70's Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide," also in middle school, I was obsessed with Led Zeppelin-- so anything by them

80's David Bowie's "Let's Dance" or "China Girl."

90's Nirvana's "come as you are" anything Nirvana or Breeders

00's Beck's "Blue Moon" I love Beck's 90's stuff, but am really diggin' his latest album.

This was tough! My answers are not necessarily my faves, but what popped in my head.
    ETA- silly mobile autocorrect
  • 70s.. probably the Beatles. My parents played Rubber Soul in the car for probably 2 years straight. Thought I had a thing for can't fight this feeling by REO Speedwagon

80s..back then it was Sentimental Street by Night Ranger and anything Madonna.

    90s probably Green Day

00s...listening to such a mix I couldn't pick one. From country to Eminem so...dunno

    @stemi love Landslide!

@meredithcarole‌ we had Diamonds in the Soles of her Shoes for the attendants song at our wedding. DH lives Peter Gabriel and U2.
    me:41   dh:43
Off Mirena Nov 2013, On Nuvaring end of Jan, Back off Sept 2014.  Never ending cycle starting end of Sept...
    11/14 Provera failed... cycle continues
12/14 High FSH (57 "midcycle")  OBGYN had no clue... about anything
01/15 More lab results coming back from RE. U/S showed small (1")cyst on left ovary, thin lining, and couldn't locate right ovary so  possibly straight to DE and IVF

Occassionally mess with the chart below to see "what if" and learn (not to make it pretty but because FF stays drunk with me).

oh, tough one... just one for an entire decade? no can do!
I'll give it a shot and I'm not changing my favorite to what it would be now I'm taking this question as what was my favorite then... Haha can you tell I didn't know which board I was posting on!  opps  of course some of you weren't even born/old enough to listen to music in the 70's/possibly 80's early 80's so
70's  Debby Boone!  You Light Up My Life   a tie for me with Crystal Gayle Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue
80's ugh  JUMP  by Van Halen baby Ugh so hard to choose.. also Soul Asylum Sometime to Return
90's Metallica  so I'll go with Sandman
2000  Jamey Johnson  Somewhere between Jennings and Jones
  • @kelley72‌ Lol! I love that you forgot which board you were on :) Also, Enter Sandman is my favorite Metalica song (and maybe Unforgiven).

  • 70s OH MY!!!  So many songs.  I can't pick.  I love music from the 70s.  First is of course the song I was named from.  Allman Brothers: Melissa.  Then we have the rest. Funk, Isley Brothers (SO and I got together with our love of Ron Isley) , Al Green especially Love and Happiness (jammin to right now), Marvin Gaye, Earth, Wind and Fire, Smokey Robinson...I could keep going.

    80s Wicked Game-Chris Isaak

90s- JODECI...LOL, my first CD I ever got.

    00s= Anything from the 70s....

  • @meredithcarole I loved Debbie Gibson.  Her tape was the first cassette I ever bought.

70's- That one is hard for me because I was born at the end of the decade, but I will go with I think the Doors "Paint it Black."  That was 70s right?

80s-At the time New Kids on the Block and Debbie Gibson.  I was a total NKOTB tweenie.  Later in the 80s I was all about Guns and Roses and Poison.  I appreciate U2 more as an adult.

90s-Like @kelley72 @vh2014 @stemi I was into the grunge/rock era.  Pearl Jam's "Jeremy" and "Better Man" are songs I love hearing.

00-@meredithcarole from other posts I can tell we have the same musical taste in alternative.  Now I go between pop, country, rock and alternative.  Shinedown is probably my favorite rock band and Muse is my favorite Alternative band.  I love Pink and Carrie Underwood right now.

  • This is hard for me to choose between pop/country.  ugh.  :)  I can't put just one for each category.

70s - Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen;  The Devil Went Down to Georgia by the Charlie Daniels Band; Coal Miners Daughter by Loretta Lynn;  The Gambler by Kenny Rogers

80s - Amarillo by Morning by George Strait;  Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car - Billy Ocean;  Is There Life Out There by Reba McEntire

90s - One Headlight by the Wallflowers;  Candle in the Wind by Elton John;  When I Call Your Name by Vince Gill

00s - The House That Built Me by Miranda Lambert;  Hurt by Johnny Cash

  • Hmmm.

70s--"I will Survive."  Also anything by Aretha Franklin.
80's--I can't pick a specific song, here.  I really liked The Cure.
90's--I wasn't actually all that into grunge (I liked the clothes, though.)  I liked Live and Soul Asylum.
00's--I heard Wilco's "Heavy Metal Drummer" on the radio today and it made me all nostalgic, so I'll go with that.

  • @lcwed: We are music twins! Debbie Gibson's "Out of the Blue" was my first cassette tape. I was also a NKOTB super-fan at 12- and 13-years old. Do you remember your first CD? Mine was Ace of Bass "The Sign."

Favorite songs of the 70's: Kenny Rogers' "The Gambler" and Judy Collins' "Both Sides Now." (I think this last song might have been released in the late 60's, but it's part of my childhood psyche.)

Favorite songs of the '80s: "Something so Strong" by Crowded House, "Borderline" and "Cherish" by Madonna, and "Eye in the Sky" by Alan Parson's Project.

Favorite songs of the '90's: I'd have to go with Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, and Alanis Morrisette songs.

Favorite songs of the 00's: Anything by the Backstreet Boys, N'Sync, and Sarah McLachlan. @McSarah1104: Definitely have to agree with Tori Amos. "Little Earthquakes" is such a good album.

@URMySunshine Boys to Men because I didn't get a CD player until I was 15.  The next one was Nirvana's Nevermind and Green Day's Dookie I believe.  Its been awhile though.  I also loved Debbie Gibsons Electric Youth.  Bath and Bodyworks Midnight Pomegranite smells just like it.
