Baby's first Christmas

What traditions will you start this year (or continue if you already have LO's)? Does baby have a Christmas ornament and stocking? A cute Christmas outfit?

I'm so excited for LO's first Christmas! I ordered her a cute personalized stocking from Pottery Barn (wish I was crafty enough make one), and want to get a baby's first Christmas ornament. I also love the idea of getting her a Christmas book each year, doing Elf on the Shelf, and an advent calendar. I know she is too small to appreciate it this year but I want to start now. I love baking and decorating gingerbread houses and Christmas cookies and I can't wait until she's big enough to help me. Share your traditions, new or old!

    Purchased DD a Minnie Mouse stocking from Disney Store, a few baby's first Christmas ornaments from Personal Creations, and a magnetic Melissa and Doug Advent Calendar. I definitely want to give her an ornament every year. Growing up, my parents did that and now I have a box full of ornaments to put on my tree. When DD is bigger, her, my mom, and I are all going to bake cookies together. :)

    I don't really have any traditions yet. This the first year we will be home on Christmas so I may have to think of what I want to do with DS. He is 2, so I think he would get into doing stuff. I'm going to buy an advent calendar. That's all I've got so far.

    Definitely a stocking, and I'll get her an ornament every year (probably a Hallmark one like I used to get); she'll also get a stuffed animal, probably a bear. We go downtown on Christmas Eve during the afternoon and then we'll spend that evening at my parents' house. Christmas morning at our house, and then to the in-laws... I guess.

    ETA: I'm also getting her an Elf on the Shelf, which we'll start next year.

    I love the Christmas Eve box... it would be so cute to add a Christmas book to read!

    Edit: I clearly need my glasses when I'm mobile since you already said book, hah.

    Other then hoping DH will be home for DS's first Christmas... we do new Jammie's on Christmas eve and a big brunch on Christmas. We also got DS the same ornament we got DD for her first Christmas. My family was also really big into stockings I kinda go over board on those

    We do homemade stockings in my family so LO will get his for a Christmas present this year.

    I am especially looking forward to Christmas Eve as he and future LO get older. After we go to IL's during the day we go to church and then drive into town to drive around listening to Christmas music and looking at everybody's lights. Then I think we will come home and do the aforementioned Christmas Eve box. =)

    I love love love Christmas. If we didn't have to include MIL and her side of the family it would be perfect. Unfortunately she and her step-siblings do their best to ruin Christmas Day, so I have to get my pleasures where I can. I cant wait until the days when we no longer have to visit that side of the fam.

    I just bought a baby's 1st Christmas ornament. Just for his 1st one I'd like to get him a really nice silver spoon. I had one when I was little and I still love it. I plan in reading Twas the night before Christmas and putting out milk n cookies. And an Advent calendar too!

      Dec 30:  HCG Beta, 4980. BFP!

    I do want to do an advent calendar. My friend had one growing up and I was so jealous lol

    We do an armament every year too. Then, when they get their own place, they have ornaments to start/have their own tree

    My mil gets dd an ornament every year and will start getting ds one as well this year. We started elf on a shelf last year, I didn't really want to but mil insisted and bought it for us. We do milk and cookies for Santa. We usually have Christmas PJs but the box, with a book/movie and snack also, is great. I want to do a calendar this year as well.

    My hubby has done the Elf on the Shelf for me the last two years.. LO was our first child, so we'll continue with that tradition. (I get so excited for that Elf... He always remembers to move!!). We also have a tradition of putting up the Christmas tree the day after thanksgiving.. Taking a pick in front of the tree with our Corgi and ordering Christmas cards with that picture.. Susie will be included in all our current traditions.

    I'm so upset I didn't buy Susie a 1st Christmas ornament when we were in Disney last weekend.

    @Peedy‌: I think elf on the shelf is creepy and I can't stand the little dude, but I absolutely love that your H did it for you. That's really cute!

    We do an ornament every year and try to get one to represent the year for each of us (ie, this year dd is getting a frozen one and ds is getting a 1st christmas).  We also buy one from anywhere we visit or vacation and put the year on it so we remember.  It makes it nice to reminisce when we put the tree up.

    We get them an ornament each year that represents some major event or change or interest.  We drive around looking at Christmas lights in our pjs Christmas Eve.  DD1 is soo excited this year we will probably add an advent calendar just to give her an idea of how long until Christmas.
