Yes we use them. However, he will only take the soothie kind the hospital gives..same as my older son. Luckily we bought a few packs of them ahead of time just in case. I usually give it to him right after he eats to help him fall asleep.
I used them with DS and plan to for this baby too.
We waited until 3-4 weeks old to introduce DS to them. I had some trouble with BFing at first, wanted to get that established before giving a pacifier.
Yes, we use them. At first I was concern about nipple confusion but decided e'f it. She can't be attached to me all the time and it's a huge life saver!
We've been using them since a day or two after birth. We use a wubbanub during the day and the one the hospital gave us (Orange, kidney shaped) at night. We've been told the wubbanubs should be used only while supervised and we agree. . My daughter has no nipple confusion (5 weeks old).
All of mine took pacifiesr until they were 3 or 4 months old. Then they all I guess figured out that they weren't going to get anything out of it and refused them.
So far I've only offered it to this LO if she's fussy between feedings when I'm sure she's not actually hungry. And she'll only take the MAM kind. Sometimes she'll take it, sometimes she won't. I think she's starting to figure out that it's a fake bottle.

Yes! We have used them since day 2. It works great when she just wants to be soothed and not fed. We use newborn gumdrop pacifiers. They are great for breastfed babies!!
Yes, both my kids have liked Nuk pacis. We started when he was a few days old. Like others have said, he rejects it when he is really hungry, but it is great when he just wants to soothe. With my older DD, we mostly used it at nap time. She knew that the bink in the mouth meant it was time to sleep. No issues with nipple confusion for either of my kids.
My 1st wouldn't take one but my 2nd uses them all the time. He likes the MUM brand. He didn't start using one until about 3 or 4 months. Little girl always has her hands by her mouth in my weekly ultrasounds so I have a feeling she may be a pacifier baby as well.
Pacifiers are great. We use the Soothies. Our hospital doesn't give them out so DH ran home our first night after delivery and brought them in... What a lifesaver!
All my babies have had them for the first month or so. New baby doesn't really like it though! I find the pacis help when baby is gassy in the evening. My babies only take the Nuk ones, I bf and they don't seem to interfere (my babies will spit them right out if they are hungry) and they were done with pacis around 3 months, around the time the mild colic/gas was over.
New dd doesn't like them at all though and I don't insist-she likes her hands.
Omg after last night and this morning of "let me suck on your boobs constantly or I will scream relentlessly" we gave in and I am going to kiss the pacifier inventor on. The. Mouth.
I had a "kill me now" night like that two nights ago. I offered him every type of pacifier we had and he wanted none of them. Thankfully, last night was much better!
Love the paci, she is a huge fan. It's great after night time feedings to help sooth DD. We are only bottle feeding so I wasn't super worried about nipple confusion. We are currently using the green soothies and she loves them.
The hospital I delivered at made it seem like pacifiers shouldn't be given until 4-6 weeks when BFing is well established. But our pediatrician said it was ok to give whenever we're ready. Unfortunately, our LO has rejected 3 different brands that we've tried. If anyone has any recs that would be awesome. We've tried Nuk, MAM, and WubbaNub.

We tried those as well as the Gumdrop ones and Soothers. So far, our little guy is unimpressed ;-)
We are a paci family, my 20 month old loves his wubs. I don't know when this little guy will get one though. I love babies with pacifiers but I want to make sure he is gaining appropriately first
They gave them pacifiers in the NICU (Soothie kind). My daughter really had no interest in hers so we haven't reintroduced at home but my son loves his when he's going into rage mode.
I have mixed thoughts. I don't like the fact that I become a slave to the pacifier and have to constantly be putting it back in his mouth, so I try to avoid using it.
As for nipple confusion or issues with feeding, we are formula feeding and noticed he doesn't like bottles that don't have nipples similar to the Soothie.

I was really really nervous about using a pacifier at first. We have a few kinds and he seems to like them all- Wubannub, Gumdrop and something else I can't think of. So far so good in terms of feeding alongside paci use. We've mostly been using it when he has been fed and seems to still want to suck. Or if he's inconsolable before a feed to calm him down a little.
The paci has been a lifesaver for us! DS started using his at 2 weeks as he wanted to comfort nurse all day long. I only give it to him when I'm certain he's not hungry.

Pacifier use is also said to reduce SIDS.

Totally makes sense! LO hasn't used hers yet but will be doing the same. Thanks!
