Mistake at Dr's appt.

I posted this in the spam thread, but it really freaked me out that the nurses would make a mistake like this.

So I just had one crazy dr appt today. I go in for my 28 week appt and I knew I was getting the Tdap shot. But they come in with a second shot also. I ask the nurse what it is and she explains it's the shot I need for having a negative blood type. I asked "like if you're RH negative?" She said yes. Ummm... This is my third pregnancy and I am NOT RH negative! My blood type is AB positive! I tell her that and she says "oh, well we'll check that" comes back in and says "you were right, I'm not sure why that was in your chart." No shit I was right! I think I know my own blood type. I'm just glad I asked what the hell it was before i let them stick me with it! I don't know much about it, but would that have caused any harm if they had given me that shot when I don't have a negative blood type?

    Its scary the things that can get mixed up. In my chart, ever since I was pregnant for my daughter it has said I was pregnant 5 times with 3 live births, when in all reality she was my first. Went to hospital for bleeding with this pregnancy (my second) and now it shows 6 pregnancies with 4 live births. Now unless there is something someone isn't telling me I'm 100% postitive this is my second pregnancy and I have had one live birth thus far.

    That's scary! Glad you were aware of what was going on! (It wouldn't have done any harm, just would have been a waste.)
