Babies: 9 - 12 Months

9 months 3 weeks food question

Anyone have some ideas or helpful tips on how to get DD to get more interested in baby food and or table food. She is 25lbs and 29inches long and loves her bottle. She also is also our night time bottle girl having the majority of her bottles in the evening and night. Still getting up a couple times at night to have big bottles. She goes to the sitter and just doesn't eat well for anyone else but me which is very hard because I'm i know she's making up for it a night and I'm a working mom and i sooooo slleeeeeepppppyyyyy . I try every day new foods but still no luck. Thanks in advance!!

  • My LO is 10 months and does s lot of her eating at night too. We've been giving her purées to start her meal, which I make, then season, like pears with cinnamon or carrots with a touch of curry. She loves Stonefield Yo Baby yogurt too. A lot of times I'll mix the yogurt with a purée, maybe some quinoa, and she's pretty happy. Lately she's been more into finger foods, particularly dairy. Cheese, cheese and more cheese--cheddar, parm, cottage. Also loves eggs and Cheerios (broken up). Hope that helps!

Another thought, tho. I've read food before one is just for fun. You may want to focus on the bottle first and food second, follow her interest?
  • I started with sitting baby down in a highchair at the table with some puffs (while we were eating). This way she could watch us eat and it helped her want to try doing it too.

  • At 9 months I was exhausted waking up 3-4 times a night to feed DD a bottle. I started decreasing the amount in the bottle by an ounce every few days. I was nervous about going cold turkey because even though at this age they can go 12 hours without food, I believe that if she was used to a bottle she could feel hungry out of habit. Eventually I stopped giving the bottle and she hardly notice. Now, after a bit of sleep training, she sleeps 730-7 am most night and I am not exhausted!
