Brown spotting after ultrasound?

I'm 12w5d pregnant with twins and had my NT scan today. Both babies look good, which is wonderful.

About 3 hours afterwards, I started with brown spotting. I had brown spotting on and off weeks 8-10, but none for weeks.

I'm wondering if the U/S may have put pressure enough to cause it again? If it was an internal U/S, that would make total sense. Maybe just 45mins of pressure could have caused? Anyone experience this?

Anything's possible. The old adage is "brown blood is old blood" and, of course, that's usually the case. It could be anything from leftover cervical bleeding from having a poop or whatever, but it's always worth mentioning any spotting to your doc. If you're Rh- you'll need a Rhogam shot within 72 hours.

Thanks! With my earlier spotting, my doctor did not do rhogam because it was old blood, no red in it, and no signs it was coming from uterus, likely cervical (I am A-). It's already started to dwindle, so that's a good thing! Just makes me nervous every time it happens.

Yeah, anytime you see blood while you're pregnant is a heart-stopping event. Hang tough!
