Re: N14 Twins Checkin (11/10)
Hope everyone else is doing well & adjusting smoothly to life w/ outside babies!
AFM: I posted some of this in yesterday's randoms thread, but in all honesty, things have been rough since getting home from the hospital. My mom stopped over to babysit for a couple of hours today, which was much needed. I actually got to do my hair, put on real clothes (other than yoga pants), and DH & I snuck out for a lunch date. It's the little things!
I've been trying to get the girls on the same night feeding schedule, but it isn't happening yet. One of our girls, Brianna, (so far) eats/sleeps like a champ. Her sister, April, on the other hand... fights her feedings, is super gassy, and fusses ALL night. She had us up every hour last night. Thinking we may have to switch her formula? This has been leaving me w/ guilt about not attempting to breastfeed.
Thankfully my C-section recovery has been very smooth, which counts for something?
I also realized what a production it is to take them both out of the house! They had their first pedi appt last Friday - it was quite the adventure. I'm definitely nervous for those times DH will not be available to help.
Rough patches aside - I'm beyond thankful that they're finally here, and both healthy. I know that once we establish some sort of routine, it'll get easier. Here's to living minute by minute (props @absolutelymaybe) until then
It's twin girls!! Born on 11-2-14!
William and Averie are growing, they both have colds which is nerve wracking for me. I have never had any of my other kids sick this small. But my pedi thinks it will pass quickly. They eat every 3 hours, William is pokey and Averie gobbles her food down.
We close on our house in 4 days!!! I have been sleeping downstairs with the twins, while my FI sleeps up because the twins wake up Autumn. I can't wait to be in the same room again. I also think I am suffering from the baby blues, I love my kids and I am glad everyone is happy healthy for the most part. I just feel a little overwhelmed with the three kids and having the health problems. But I hope it gets better soon.
My mom went home yesterday so now it's just DH and I taking care of 3u3. Luckily he is off till Friday.
@missvolvo congrats on your handsome little boys! Sorry to hear about the cortisol deficiency but glad to hear you are home and settling in.
@Amandakea15 sorry to hear William and Averie caught a cold. I hope they get well soon!
@MrsC430 hope you get the girls on the same feeding soon and that the juggling gets easier. I'm still waking my girls at night for feedings.
@morrkim hope Levi and Evan pass their sweat tests and pack on lbs soon
As for my update, my girls are doing great and are 1 month today! Brooklyn who was born at 4 lbs 13 oz is now 6 lbs 7 oz. Lyric the youngest who was born at 4 lbs 3 oz is now 6 lbs! I'm still doing both breastfeeding and formula. My husband went back home so it's my mom n the girls now until I go home in December.
My csection healed well. I was shocked to see how fine it was after all that glue was removed by my doctor. Still feels a little strange to touch but I'm definitely feeling better. I had horrible gas from the c section that lasted beyond 2 weeks but it's gone thank God!
We did a photoshoot with the girls at 12 days and it came out great. I out a few pics below. I also posted the most recent pic at their doc visits. Looking forward to seeing more pics of your beautiful babies!!

The hospital started our girls off on Enfamil. One of our girls is doing just fine with it, the other has been a challenge. Pedi recommended switching her to the gentleease Enfamil, which was also a fail. So now we're trying Soy based. Praying that's finally the answer - her poor belly has been through the ringer & I feel awful.
Just curious what is working for everyone else.

It's twin girls!! Born on 11-2-14!
Austin James was born at 5:59am, weighing 7lbs.8oz., and 20" in height.
Anthony Francis was born some seconds later, at 5:59am. He weighed 7lbs.13oz. and is also 20" in height.
I am sooo in love with these little guys. It's amazing because I thought for sure it would take a little time to get used to them, similar to my experience with DS. Hopefully we'll be discharged today and our little family will all be together again.

Just wanted to let everyone know I'll be a day late on the check in for this week. Today was a rough day, DH went back to work part of the day and apparently ari decided he wanted to be momma's little rage monster during that time. So not only was i up all night handling the feedings solo, but all morning too. I finally was able to get a nap when DH came home this afternoon and have been in and out of when not feeding, burping, and changing.
Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
