Talking about the "heathen's greetings" card I got last year had me wondering. Do you guys send out cards? Are you doing picture cards wi your LOs? What's the plan?
I never send out cards but I think I'll be that person who changes her ways and bombards everyone with a picture card with LO. And probably my dog in the photo. I've been pinteresting ideas.
We did cards for the first time as a pregnancy announcement/Christmas card. I ordered ours for this Xmas already because Shutter fly was having a half off sale. They arrived today! Need to figure out when to send them out. Was thinking after Thanksgiving?
I've been sending out Christmas cards for years, I swear its the only time I take a family picture and then include it. I've even been thinking of sending them out to my clients (I'm a hairdresser) cause apparently I don't have enough to do
I loooooooove Christmas cards. Big time. Love to make em, send em, and receive them :-) I keep them on display in the house until hubby forces me to take them down...usually in February. We have friends and family strewn all over the US so I love this time of year when the cards start rolling in! My bestie is a photographer, so she usually makes the cards custom for me, but she's about to pop with baby #4, and is also in the process of moving...so I didn't dare ask. (Did I for real just type "bestie"?! Yes...yes I did...I think I need a vacation...) Instead, I am gonna order from Zazzle. Have several friends who have been pleased with Zazzle, and there's an awesome groupon right now. I bought the largest groupon for 110 cards/envelopes for $44.99. I am pretty pumped!! Plus, I didn't send out birth announcements (life got crazy right around the one DS was born), so our cards are gonna be Christmas on one side, announcement-ish pics n info on the other.
We both have a lot of family out of the country, so we've always done some sort LD Christmas card. Since babies arrived I've been doing photo cards. Mine are on their way from Shutterfly. I don't do special pictures, just a couple of recent ones that I've taken.
Yes! I've done regular cards (no picture or personalized) for the past two years but this year I'm doing cards from Shutterfly with LO picture's on it, I am using a pic from her 3 month photo shoot. Im gonna order them now because we are leaving the country the day after Thanksgiving for 3 weeks and I want to mail them before we leave. I love sending and getting cards on the mail.
We've been sending out Christmas cards since the year we got married so we will definitely be doing it again this year. One of my best friends is a photographer, so I get my pics done for free, which helps. This year will either be just LO or maybe a collage with a family pic and a pic of just LO - depending on how the pictures come out.
Just thought I'd leave this here... 50 photo cards from Staples for $10. I have never used them for my cards before but you really can't beat that deal!
Our anniversary is at the end of October so we do anniversary photos every year and use them for our Christmas cards (hence the "three" banner in one of the pics).
We do cards every year. DH photoshops us into a funny holiday scene. The first year he made it look like he was peeing the words Merry Xmas in the snow. Last year he photoshopped us into a pic from The Grinch. He was the grinch, I was cindy lou who and our dog was the dog. People are always on the look out for our card each year. DH doesn't have time for that this year so I am brainstorming a funny idea instead. LO has big stick out ears so I got him an elf costume and plan to take his picture for the card. Any ideas for what else to have in the pic or what it should say? I would photoshop him as Will Ferrell onto the cover of the movie Elf if I knew how and had time.
When I scheduled LOs newborn photos I bought a package for newborn, 6month, and one year so we'll take a couple of family photos during her 6month shoot and use one or 2 for cards. I scheduled her 6 month photos for dec 1 so we would have time to get the digital files back for cards. I love sending and receiving Christmas cards!
@flojo973 - they had some cute ideas, baby playing with a string of lights, baby surrounded by Christmas ornaments, Baby in a basket with a Santa hat, lol. There were also some tips on lighting and stuff!
I bought the dog a sweater for the photo tonight and am going to do the photos myself tomorrow! I'm so excited. My brother told me I was "such a mom now", ha.
