Social Pressure

Hi y'all!
My husband and I are 21 and 20, have been married for a year, and are planning on TTC in February or March. I was born to parents who were 20 and 21, who were born to parents who were 19 and 20, and we want 6 kids total over the course of our lifetime. I have six younger siblings and my husband wants a family like I have. We are also concerned (due to family medical history) that we won't be able to have our own kids after our mid-twenties or so. We are stable in our marriage, finances, housing, and work. What's more, we feel ready. Our parents and close friends say we're ready too, but my boss and coworkers are saying we're "ruining our lives". How can I persuade them that this is what we want?

Re: Social Pressure

  • I agree with PP. It's your life! And I would definitely avoid talking about your personal life at work. It's none of their business.

Everything everyone else said. However, I'm curious about why you think you won't be able to conceive after your mid-20s.
We will likely never know, since OP hasn't been back to read any of the responses.
