Maternity pants clicky for STMs

I was talking to my sister earlier about my new maternity wardrobe, and mentioned to her that I got a couple pairs of pants, one of which is low panel. She said to return them immediately because once I have a bigger belly, I'm going to hate them and will constantly be pulling them up. I like them now, but I only have a mini 14 week bump and they stay up fine. So my question for all you other STM+, which do you prefer as you're further along?... Full panel pants or low panel?

Re: Maternity pants clicky for STMs

  • I honestly don't remember caring much.  I tried all 5 pairs on last night and almost cried.

They look horrid.  I hate them.

I know I had a favorite pair to bowl in, but I can't remember which ones.

I will last as long as possible in my normal pants...hopefully until 30 weeks again.

  • I wore a BellaBand my entire pregnancy. Never had maternity pants.
  • Full panel all the way! I have one pair of low panel and I hated them by the middle of second tri. I never wore them by the time I had a real belly, but they are ok for the early in-between stages.

  • I'm guessing it probably depends on how you carry as well.  The second baby may be quite different than the first.  Or do they usually sit / carry the same?

  • Low panel became more comfortable for me again in 3rd tri. Full panel helped shape the bump in 2nd tri. So I clicked both for that reason.

  • I found full panel stayed up very well. And my shirts sometimes helped the panel stay in place. I found them super comfortable.

I prefer the low panel, they kind of look like kids elastic waisted pants. I'm small framed with no hips. I find the full belly panel to be itchy and annoying.
    Same here.

  • Full panel for me. I get really big so the low panels are not comfortable to me.

  • The low panel didn't exist with my kids. I never wore maternity clothes with my first, just elastic waist, I never really got big. My second I wore full panel. Honestly not sure if I want anything under my belly except maybe my underwear.
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • Full panel all the way!! I avoided them but found the low panel itchy in the third trimester. After I tried on a full panel I never looked back!

Also the low panel seemed to fall a lot so I constantly had to readjust.

  • I so wish I could find low panels!!! I cannot stand having the stretchy fabric over my belly big or small. I fold it over to make it more like low panel.
  • I think it depends on your body and how you carry. Right now I love the low panel. The full panel doesn't fit right. I wore both styles throughout my pregnancy last time.

  • I had both and liked both. Low panel was good at the beginning and end, when my belly was getting too big for the panel! Sometimes the full panel feels itchy and uncomfortable, too.

The best is a nice comfy maxi dress! ;)

  • I feel like it really depends on the pants and how you end up carrying...I carried really high with both of my previous pregnancies and had some low panel pants that I loved and some I didn't love.  I've never not like a full panel maternity pant so I guess it is the safer choice but at the same time I wouldn't rule out the low panel pants yet.  But I can definitely see how if you carry low they would be awful.
  • I pick a fourth option - doesn't matter because NEITHER are comfortable! I hated pants past the second tri. I'm so glad I'm due in the spring instead of winter this time bc I think I'll get to wear more skirts and dresses (without leggings or tights!)

Same here. Just invested in a couple more low panel pants yesterday. I also loved the low panel ones after delivery when you no longer have a firm bump but still can't fit in your regular pants.

  • I bought one pair of low panel cords at gap last week. I am fully aware that they won't last me long. However I am still in the bloat stage! And I have also worn them 4 times since I purchased them haha. And I have a feeling I will wear them next winter when I'm not even pregnant. I looked at the subtlety of the low panel and I was like, "why are not all pants made like this?!"

  • I've been folding down the full panel for now, but I know once my belly is bigger I will want the full panel up.

  • I pulled out my maternity jeans this week. I wore a Demi panel pair today and spend all day annoyed pulling them up. By end of day they were so saggy. I don't really have a bump yet but I can tell its on the way. I wished all day today I just had wore my regular jeans haha
  • I agree with the full panel being more versatile...you can fold it down for the beginning but you'll want it for support as you get bigger. But also, dresses! Maternity leggings and tights are the same (full panel you can fold down or not) but I can't wait for spring so I can wear maxi dresses and skirts without them! That's definitely the most comfortable for me. Hope you find some comfy pretty stuff!
  • I bought low panel and they fit great everywhere except in the belly. When I sit down the panel folds down and squeezes me tightly. They are so uncomfortable. I used full panel with other pregnancies and had no
Complaint and they lasted a lot longer. :)
  • Also got full panel pants and im so happy with them
