14 weeks - still sick, hungry, and working full time

This is the 1st time I've ever posted anything on any type of message board so forgive my lack of internet manners if there's any :)
I'm 14 weeks and still struggling with sickness and being hungry all the time. I pretty much have to eat something once an hour or I get sick, but that's very hard since almost nothing sounds good. If I try to eat something that doesn't sound good I throw up, so I try to think of something that sounds good and nothing really, no real cravings yet. I've gotten so tired of crackers, ginger ale, sour candies, mints, etc. I'll go to the store and look around and buy very few things, or I'll open up Pinterest and search for food to see if something looks good and pretty much all I would want is sweets like cakes, ice cream but I'm not going to fill up on sugar!
The biggest challenge is working full time during this, I have tried to bring basically my whole fridge into work but I don't have a regular desk job so I can't eat as often as I need to (if I could even stomach enough foods) I'm on the road a lot it's very challenging. Anyone have any tips? I have Zofran but don't care to take it because of the headaches.

Thanks for any advice!

  • Just try and find what your stomach can handle. Try eating high fiber and protein foods to keep yourself full. My doctor recommended apples and peanut butter, and cheese and crackers for me. I've found zofran headaches feel a lot better with a small cup of coffee, but that's me. Try and keep your fluids up and hopefully it gets better. My M/s was awful until 18 weeks and now is hit or miss at 22 weeks.

Try and eat when you can, bring lots of snacks for throughout the day and remember to eat every chance you get and drink lots of water! Hope you start to feel better soon.

  • 18 weeks here. MS is a killer still. Zofran is your friend. Headaches suck but caffeine helps for that. No matter what I eat. It's hit or miss whether it takes away the MS or I will throw it up. Zofran is the only thing that helps.
  • Thank you for the tips. I will try the nuts and I do need to make the PBJ's for sure. I will also try Zofran with coffee, haven't tried that yet! I'm thankful for the disintegrating tabs since I can't do pills these days.
  • Another food recommendation: chocolate covered almonds. They got me through my MS and I still keep them on hand at all times because if I let myself get too hungry I feel sick.

  • One thing that calms my hunger and nausea is sun chips. I have a bag in my car and one at work. I'm a nanny so I'm in my car a lot for various reasons. Seriously, Just 5 chips and I'm good to go.

  • I would have to say I lived on a diet of zofran with a diet coke, orange juice, and French fries for a long time. And unisom at night.

  • If you're on the road, could you pack a cooler? Peanut butter with apples or celery, cheese sticks, nuts, crackers with pb or cheese...

I'm bad and do French fries way more than I ought to do.

  • almost 27 weeks and still throwing up 2-3 times daily.  I've noticed that its easier for me to keep anything high fiber down.  I'll eat a bagel in the morning, sandwich for lunch, and pasta for dinner.  Its physically harder for me to throw up bread. Zofran helps wonders.  I also take reglan since the zofran back you up and fiorocet for the headaches.  Good Luck!
