TTC after 35

New Here - Intro

Hi Everyone!

I'm a 36 and a mom to 1 lovely little girl and we are looking to expand our family to 2 in the next year. We have been TTC for about 4 months now and no dice. Its a little bit frustrating but probably because I had unrealistic expectations to begin with since our first happened relatively quickly. I guess I just assumed it would be the same for #2. Anyway I am now starting to realize that this may be a longer journey than originally planned. I just keep telling myself that every month that goes by means my daughter will be that much better able to take care of herself when baby #2 gets here and it will be easier for me, so maybe its a blessing in disguise. Anyway just wanted to introduce my self and say hi. I hope to get to know some of you lovely ladies and see us all migrate over to a birth month board eventually!

  • Welcome and  good luck.  When we started TFAS, we got pregnant on the 5th month of trying.  I had turned 36 earlier in the year.  Our DD was conceived almost immediately, so I understand the disappointment when it doesn't come as quickly.  Hang in there.

  • Welcome.
I know it's frustrating but just keep at it. If you have good timing for 6 months and nothing happens then you can see your dr. For some testing and possibly a referral to see an RE if you want to go that route.
    Good luck.

    11/14 Provera failed... cycle continues
12/14 High FSH (57 "midcycle")  OBGYN had no clue... about anything
01/15 More lab results coming back from RE. U/S showed small (1")cyst on left ovary, thin lining, and couldn't locate right ovary so  possibly straight to DE and IVF

Occassionally mess with the chart below to see "what if" and learn (not to make it pretty but because FF stays drunk with me).

  • Welcome!  I'm another who's finding it waaaay more difficult to conceive a second time.  DD just kind of happened my second month off birth control.  As for #2, the details are in my signature, and I'm slated for IVF in December.  I think the exhaustion and physical changes that come with pregnancy and raising a small child are just--hard on your body.

36 is young around these parts, though, so I hope your experience is easier.  Take care of yourself, and good luck!

  • Welcome! I can totally relate to it being harder to get pregnant this time around.. With my first two I got pregnant on the first cycle. We are in our fourth month of trying for baby number three, but I'm 35 now and was 30 and 32 for the others.
