Welcome to "Hanging On To a Dream!" This group is designed as a check-in for those that are not currently part of a monthly IVF cycling group but would like some camaraderie while waiting to cycle for any reason. Please join us if your monthly cycling group has not started and tell us how you are doing. Please also let us know if you are (1) waiting for 1st cycle; (2) in between cycles; or (3) on hold for whatever reason. Please also tell us what your next plans are (IVF with ICSI, FET, WTF appt. etc.) and what month you hope to cycle.
QOTW: What are your fave Thanksgiving recipes?

@lemonliz Enjoy the wine! I'm enjoying some drinks as well, until my FET prep starts. I wish I was exercising more, though! PS: I LOVE brussels sprouts and I use Apple Cider Vinegar all the time! YUM!
@ChristieH917 That cranberry sauce looks amazing!
AFM: Not much going on over here. Just anxiously awaiting my surgery to remove one little fibroid. It is set for December 4 and I can't wait for it to be over with! In the meantime, I'll relax and enjoy Thanksgiving!
QOTW: My entire family is vegetarian so we have big veggie Thanksgiving celebrations! For the last couple years I have made my famous lentil cakes with mushroom gravy. Don't be weirded out by the name. They are so delicious and everyone requests them each year. But this year, I'm going to branch out and make a big veggie pot pie and butternut squash mac and cheese! Can't wait!
Hi Ladies!
This will be my last check-in here, since I started stimming for IVF #4 on Tuesday! I actually started thinking I would get benched until Jan, since my period came before I could start the EPP, but I got the go ahead to start. FX this will be it for me! And FX that all of you ladies will be moving on to successful cycling, soon!
princessisadora thank you so much for running the check-ins!
QOTW: I'm spoiled, because between my parents and my in-laws, I've never had to cook Thanksgiving dinner! But my favorite Thanksgiving/Christmas dish is my mom's cranberry sauce, which uses Jell-O, cranberries (duh), apples, walnuts and celery. I really need to get the recipe and try it, because *someday* I'll host a holiday dinner. In my defense, I've done Easter dinner before, but that was pork loin, and not as involved as Thanksgiving or Christmas.

@lemonliz - I freaking LOVE brussels sprouts! Enjoy your wine my friend
Good luck with your appointment next week @ChristieH917!
Almost there @lilycakes! I love cooking (and eating) vegetarian meals
So much more creative and flavourful!
AFM - Not much going on. Still waiting for our cycle in Feb/Mar (it still says Dec/Jan?), depending on how my thyroid is doing? I have an appointment with the endocrinologist next week, so we'll see how things are looking there!
QOTW: We have the entire [extended] family over to our house for Thanksgiving every year, and I do all the cooking, so I guess all of it?
Apparently I make the worlds best stuffing
***EVERYONE WELCOME***
***EVERYONE WELCOME***
Stuffing is actually my very favorite Thanksgiving side! Yum!
GL at the appointment next week!
I had my WTF with my RE last week. We discussed a lot of stuff. Basically, he has no answer why I had a failed fresh cycle and a failed FET. He said my embies and blasts were great, so quality isn't the problem. We tossed around the idea of two more IUIs, but my insurance coverage isn't what I thought it was, so that's out of the equation for now.
I'm having my second HSG tomorrow morning at 7:15 am. When we get ready to cycle again, I will have another endometrial scratch. He did one when I had surgery last year for my uterine septum and endometriosis. C wants to get started with my next period. That will put me into mid January for ER and ET.
From this point forward we are going to do single embie transfers so that we can have as many chances as possible to make this work.
QOTW: My Mom makes candied sweet potatoes. They are my favorite part of our Thanksgiving meal.
Me: 30 DW (aka C): 29
Together since 2/15/11 ~ Legally married in NY on 9/29/12
***CP mentioned***
We've been working on baby #1 since July 2013 using Open ID donor sperm. 8 IUI attempts with 5 actual IUIs and one chemical pregnancy. We have one fresh IVF cycle under our belts as well as a FET. I have endometriosis and a uterine septum that was corrected via surgery in November 2013.
11/14/14 - Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good.
12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2
12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)
1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2
****All Welcome!****
We are Mommas to four fur babies - 3 dogs and 1 cat.
It'll definitely be January or later now before we can start another ivf cycle. Which I guess is good. I don't really want to be an even more emotional mess on xmas.
QOTW: I've made thanksgiving for the family a few times, my most requested thing nowadays is a pumpkin roll. My brother could probably eat one all by himself if they'd let him.
Me: 27 Dh: 35 Testing Begins 3/5/13
Six SA's show DH has low numbers across the board = severe MFI
Genetic testing for me = MTHFR+, also carrier for blood clotting disorder Otherwise all else normal
Dh's karotype= Normal!!
wine sounds so good right now
I'm actually seeing him the day before Thanksgiving.
QOtW: my fave thanksgiving dish we make in my irish-puertorican household is colcannon, which is mashed potatoes with sautéed onions , bacon and dark leafy greens yum. I also love rosated yuca
It sick that finances dictates so many of these decisions
