We were using condoms, but they can be a hassle and I'm too forgetful to rely on pills so I'm seriously thinking about talking to the doc about a non-hormonal IUD.
Pretty sure we are done but I started crying when talking to my ob regarding our choices. So she suggested not doing anything potentially permanent but I do not want to go back on the pill. Seriously considering an IUD.
Well I have a hormonal balance so I go nuts if I take the pill or use anything hormone based. My husband refuses to use a condom because we are married, plus we would forget, he doesn't want me to get an iud because he's worried about complications with it. We would pull out but I find it to be a put off. So we are not sure what we are gonna do
None...I want to get pregnant again as soon as possible. I know that sounds crazy, and that I need to make sure to get my vitamins and minerals in my body back up quickly, but hubby and I want four kids and I'm already 32 so we don't want to wait. So...no birth control for me!
Breastfeeding & NFP/condoms. Once we decide we're done (this is baby #2,we may or may not have one more) DH will get a vasectomy.
I was on BCP for about 10 years. I never had problems with it, per se, but it did damper my sex drive. And coming off of it was a bitch, I had more "symptoms" stopping the pill than I've ever had during pregnancy. So I don't want to go back on it.
I'm thinking iud. I'm not good with remembering to take pills and I don't want to say that I am for sure done. DH says he wants to get a vasectomy so we are for sure done, do until then I will probably go with the iud.
I'm pretty sure I'm getting Mirena. DH wants to try for baby #2 Summer of next year though so we may need to rethink. We want a large family too @howin23 so I feel you there, girl!!

I can't take hormonal BC either and successfully avoided pregnancy using the Creighton Model charting system. I'll be going back to that!
I was on Mirena before trying to get pregnant and am going back on 8 weeks post-delivery. I loved it.
For all those not going the IUD route because you want more kids, I'm confused. Supposedly you are fertile the cycle after you take it out. Easy peasy.
Vasectomy is probably going to be our choice because we're already set on adopting any more children we have. I may opt for a non-hormonal IUD for a while though. I don't think my mind will change on this, but enough people have me freaked out at the possibility so it may be a good idea for us.
Paraguard. Last time I used Mirena, and it was great except that it took away my sex drive. I had it in for just over a year then took it out to TTC. Conceived on the second cycle but miscarried. No trouble conceiving again once my cycle returned.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Depo. I loved it while I was on it. Unfortunately I was on it for too long and ended up with low bone density. But for the short term it's something to consider.

Pull and pray. It's worked for us for the past 7 years, only getting pregnant when we planned.
Same here! Didn't even really chart my cycle until towards the end of my pre-preggo days...I supposed we only used NFP to get preggo, not to avoid it, since PnP worked so well for us for years...but in any case, we'll be going back to PnP/NFP since I've never used BC and am unfamiliar with it....I'd rather avoid it if possible, since my cycle never gave me any trouble and I'd rather not mess with my luck...plus, I'm bad at pills! Also, condoms are super uncomfortable for DH, so those are usually a no-go, too. Once we're officially done, though, he's said he's open to the idea of a vasectomy....not until after a few more babies, though

Thanks eveyone. I'm pretty terrified of bc but equally (probably more so)terrified of a third baby. This week has been HARD. I have an appointment tomorrow but have definitely done some research thanks to you ladies. I'm not decided but I'm prepared to talk with the doc.
DH is getting a V after the first of the year. He hasn't seen the doctors at all this year, so I figured wait until next year when we start a new deductible in January.
I can't take any hormonal bc due to clotting issues. We're going to wing it,?if I get pregnant again, great. I'm 38 and this is our first. If I don't get pregnant in the next 2-4 years we'll likely do something more permanent.
My hematologist approved low dose Mirena and Depo for me. I chose the Mirena. Have you asked about that?

Most IUDs are designed to be used for several years so a lot of providers won't recommend them for use under 2 years.
Interesting. I had mine in for 1 1/2 years but the plan was to never have kids so I intended it for longer use. I currently only want one, but my husband wants two and if I come around it will be less than two years, but I'm still putting it back in. I love that thing.
I got pregnant on the pill. So probably not going that route. I literally took it every day within the min I was suppose to. And here I am with a month old baby ha ha. I'm BF but I did mirena after dd 1 was born and I had horrible complications. So I'm not going to do an iud so we are down to condoms and pullout
IUD, had mirenia for about 1.5yrs aftet DS. I was pregnant witj DD before I even had one cycle with it removed. I am thinking of going with Parguard this time though because the Mirenia made me moody.
IUD. Can't decide between Mirena and Paragard. I heard that sometimes you don't have periods with Mirena and this might sound weird, but I like having regular periods. They make me feel more in charge of my fertility, I guess. I am lucky not to have really heavy, painful periods, so they don't bother me much.
I don't think we'll TTC again until DS/DD is at least 2 or 3.
