Selecting an RE??

Okay so I'm ready to be proactive about this after a year of trying on our own. I have my HSG scheduled for Tuesday through my OB and DH will be doing his S/A on Monday. And I'm guessing our next step after that is to find an RE. I have already begun searching online for ones in our area and found there are a lot since we live near UCONN and they have a big program there. I'm just curious for those of you who have an RE how did you decide on the one that you are using? Did you go based on who your OB recommended? A friend? Any tips on what to be looking for when I search? TIA!

Married July 2011

DD Born 8/12

TTC #2 since 11/13

ME: Submucosal Fibroid Surgery Date APRIL 14th 2015 -Left Tube is blocked by Fibroid~Surgeon removed 26 Fibroids from my Ute and Unblocked my Tube

DH:Azoospermia...Thank God we have 12 vials of frozen swimmers

July 15-Check to see if Ute is all healed

IUI #1 8/3/15...BFN

IUI #2 9/5/15...BFP on 9/17/15

Beta #1-344

Beta #2-809

Beta #3 8,390

    Wow! Thank you! this is VERY helpful. And a BOGO for IUIs?? That sounds funny to me and awesome too!

    I went with who my doctor recommended but searched local message boards and looked the RE up on rating sites.
    Me: 32, DH: 33
    DS #1: April 2010
    DS #2: July 2015 (preemie born at 31 weeks) - our little miracle conceived through ART - unexplained secondary infertility/adenomyosis

    I also went with the practice recommendation from my OB, however not the specific doctor she recommended because she did not have great reviews online (most of them said she was very clinical and cold).  We are pretty happy with our RE, he's very kind and thorough.  It definitely came through in the first meeting with him, so I would also recommend paying attention to how they interact with you during the initial consultation.  GL!

    I went with my OBs recommendation, but I also knew several people who used him and liked him as he's the "main guy" on the St. Paul side of the Twin Cities, which is where I work.  I felt a lot of relief knowing others who'd had success with him and liked him.  The first time I saw him, he was very sure that we would get pregnant - and we did.  I think when you find the right doc, you'll feel very assured and your anxiety will be greatly lessened.

    12/2015: IVF #1 transferred two great looking embryos - BFP!
    First ultrasound: TWO beautiful little heartbeats!!
    Harmony: negative; level 2: babies look great and are boy/girl! :)
