****Hanging on to a dream Check in 11/12***

Welcome to "Hanging On To a Dream!" This group is designed as a check-in for those that are not currently part of a monthly IVF cycling group but would like some camaraderie while waiting to cycle for any reason. Please join us if your monthly cycling group has not started and tell us how you are doing. Please also let us know if you are (1) waiting for 1st cycle; (2) in between cycles; or (3) on hold for whatever reason. Please also tell us what your next plans are (IVF with ICSI, FET, WTF appt. etc.) and what month you hope to cycle.

QOTW: What are your fave Thanksgiving recipes?

  • @tptbabe

Stuffing is actually my very favorite Thanksgiving side! Yum!

GL at the appointment next week!

  • Nothing new to report as well. Keeping busy at work. I am counting down the days until January so I can start IVF # 2 again. So anxious to get started.

QOTW: No favorite recipe here, but I do love stuffing.

  • I'm sorry I've been bad about posting on this check in. I always intend to and it hasn't been happening.

I had my WTF with my RE last week. We discussed a lot of stuff. Basically, he has no answer why I had a failed fresh cycle and a failed FET. He said my embies and blasts were great, so quality isn't the problem. We tossed around the idea of two more IUIs, but my insurance coverage isn't what I thought it was, so that's out of the equation for now.

I'm having my second HSG tomorrow morning at 7:15 am. When we get ready to cycle again, I will have another endometrial scratch. He did one when I had surgery last year for my uterine septum and endometriosis. C wants to get started with my next period. That will put me into mid January for ER and ET.

From this point forward we are going to do single embie transfers so that we can have as many chances as possible to make this work.

QOTW: My Mom makes candied sweet potatoes. They are my favorite part of our Thanksgiving meal.

    Me: 30  DW (aka C): 29

Together since 2/15/11 ~ Legally married in NY on 9/29/12

    ***CP mentioned***

We've been working on baby #1 since July 2013 using Open ID donor sperm.  8 IUI attempts with 5 actual IUIs and one chemical pregnancy.  We have one fresh IVF cycle under our belts as well as a FET.  I have endometriosis and a uterine septum that was corrected via surgery in November 2013.

11/14/14 -  Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good.

12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2

12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)

    1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2

     ****All Welcome!****

We are Mommas to four fur babies - 3 dogs and 1 cat.

  • The clinic called and said that DH's sperm fragmentation results are in and they want to set up an appointment to go over the results for next Friday. I don't know about you guys but anytime the clinic refuses to tell me the test results of anything over the phone I automatically assume its bad. Ehh.
It'll definitely be January or later now before we can start another ivf cycle. Which I guess is good. I don't really want to be an even more emotional mess on xmas.
QOTW: I've made thanksgiving for the family a few times, my most requested thing nowadays is a pumpkin roll. My brother could probably eat one all by himself if they'd let him.

    TTC since March of 2012
    Me: 27 Dh: 35 Testing Begins 3/5/13
Six SA's show DH has low numbers across the board = severe MFI
Genetic testing for me = MTHFR+, also carrier for blood clotting disorder Otherwise all else normal
    Dh's karotype= Normal!!
     Mini-IVF/ICSI - July -August 2014 - 1R,M,&F Transferred 1 Grade 1 Morula-5dt - BFFN

That's amazing, @O2girl‌! YH is talented.

Nothing new to report here, either! Just waiting on our first cycle. Got my protocol, so that's good. Trying not to stress. Exercising a lot more lately. Enjoying wine while I still can. Hope everyone is having a good week so far!

QOTW: My signature dish for Thanksgiving is bacon braised brussels sprouts. Even people who swear they don't like sprouts like these ones (the key is a couple of tablespoons of cider vinegar. It takes the bitterness out).

My husband is the chef in the family and he also makes delish Brussel sprouts with bacon.
wine sounds so good right now

    Hi Ladies!

This will be my last check-in here, since I started stimming for IVF #4 on Tuesday! I actually started thinking I would get benched until Jan, since my period came before I could start the EPP, but I got the go ahead to start. FX this will be it for me! And FX that all of you ladies will be moving on to successful cycling, soon!

princessisadora thank you so much for running the check-ins!

QOTW: I'm spoiled, because between my parents and my in-laws, I've never had to cook Thanksgiving dinner! But my favorite Thanksgiving/Christmas dish is my mom's cranberry sauce, which uses Jell-O, cranberries (duh), apples, walnuts and celery. I really need to get the recipe and try it, because *someday* I'll host a holiday dinner. In my defense, I've done Easter dinner before, but that was pork loin, and not as involved as Thanksgiving or Christmas.

We will miss you @Carol77B‌! GL on your cycle!

Wow, that's gorgeous @O2girl!!! Your hubby did a fantastic job!

@lemonliz - I freaking LOVE brussels sprouts! Enjoy your wine my friend :)

Good luck with your appointment next week @ChristieH917!

Almost there @lilycakes! I love cooking (and eating) vegetarian meals :) So much more creative and flavourful!

AFM - Not much going on. Still waiting for our cycle in Feb/Mar (it still says Dec/Jan?), depending on how my thyroid is doing? I have an appointment with the endocrinologist next week, so we'll see how things are looking there!

QOTW: We have the entire [extended] family over to our house for Thanksgiving every year, and I do all the cooking, so I guess all of it? :p Apparently I make the worlds best stuffing ;)

I will get to updating your info!

I'm actually seeing him the day before Thanksgiving.

QOtW: my fave thanksgiving dish we make in my irish-puertorican household is colcannon, which is mashed potatoes with sautéed onions , bacon and dark leafy greens yum. I also love rosated yuca

  • @rainbowbridge14‌ I have no advice but can relate. This is the same predicament I find myself in. I went for a 2nd opinion RE not bc I disliked my RE but bc I wanted to know what other clinics pricin was compared to the first clinic. I still haven't gotten a quote from clinic 2 but I feel I can't make a decision without that pieCE of info.
It sick that finances dictates so many of these decisions
