Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

another loss

I have now had 3 miscarriages. My first was in 2011 and then I had a healthy boy in 2012 and with in last 5 months ive miscarried twice. I found out my thyroid is alittle off its producing to much but my obgyn is wanting to send me to a specialist for genetic testing and put it in their hands so we can get to the bottom of this. I have no problem getting pregnant its just staying pregnant. These losses r really taking a tole on me. Im nt one to talk about it bec I don't like to be talked about. Has anyone had this problem and seen a specialist?

  • I hope you get the answers that you need.
  • Thank you everyone just the littlest words can make me feel better right nw:)
  • I'm so sorry for you loss! I am experiencing a blighted ovum and waiting to miscarry... I have hypothyroid but I take medicine for it to ensure it is functioning as it should be. I brought that up to mg dr and she said she deals with many thyroid issues during pregnancies. Thyroid issues can cause infertility or issues. I pray that they get to bottom of this ASAP!
  • If you can see my siggy, you can see my history of losses. Insist on a full RPL panel (ideally by an RE) which will include your thyroid. You will want to get your thyroid levels very well under control to begin with, but your losses may not necessarily be because of that. RPL panel should also include an HSG test to make sure it is not an anatomical problem. For me personally, the RPL panel turned up all normal and we believe I have an egg quality issue. I would highly recommend reading the book Coming to Term about recurrent miscarriages. It helped educate me and give me some sense of understanding. I'm very sorry for your losses. I hope you are hanging in there.

*** siggy warning- losses mentioned- everyone welcome *****
