Fake belly for daddy

So I want to get a fake belly for my husband. So he can feel how we feel carrying around all that extra pounds all the time. I'm barely eight weeks but this is my fourth pregnancy. I'm thinking this will be my last for good. I'm good with the ones I have already. Anyways I want to enjoy as much as I can this pregnancy. So I'm trying to look where to buy one but the ones I've found are for either costumes or like to pretend you are which are really expensive. Do any any of you know where I can find one. I've tried amazon but they're either blowup up ones or for stuffing costumes.

  • So, let me get this straight. Is this going to be a gift? How long is he going to wear it for? I imagine they're really expensive...the ones that actually replicate the pregnancy. I'm intruiged by this one...

I have a feeling that just a belly will give him no idea what pregnancy is like for some, just the added weight. If your goal is to make him feel contractions, you may want to get an electric stimulation machine and attach it to his abdomen area. This machine has a few attaching pads and sends electric currents into the body. It, then, tightens those muscles like a contraction. You can start with low, then, move up to pretty high. Me and my husband have definitely had our fair share of chicken with it. LoL.

As a bonus, when used correctly, this machine is awesome when it comes to pain relief in your muscles, especially feet! I have not researched if it's for pregnancy, so I suggest exercising due diligence on this one.

    They start at about $100.

    Have fun!
  • People actually do this? I have no desire to find out what it feels like to be kicked in the nuts, so I can't imagine doing any of the mentioned "ideas" to DH.

It's been done on many news and talk show channels. Watch it on YouTube, it's pretty funny. Google labor pain stimulator.

Yep, why not duct tape a 24 pack on him. Haha.

  • @Yeritzi‌ Has your husband done or said something to you that indicated a lack of empathy or understanding? And if so, have you tried having a frank conversation about how you're feeling and what you need to feel supported by him? Maybe just me, but I think that would be more productive than strapping a weighted fat suit on him, which most people would find more funny or awkward than meaningful.

  • LOL! I could see wanting to do this. But seriously, I feel like after the hormones die down once baby is born, you will look at the fake bump and wonder why you spent that money on something so temporary.

  • Thanks everyone for ur responses. Some of them made me think n yes he is getting enough with my mood swings and actually does a lot of the house work that I can't do. I guess that's enough for now. And I know a lot more work is waiting for after the c-section. Oh and some replies just took it too far. Everyone thinks differently.

When I went to try maternity clothes on they had a fake belly in the change room, so I tried it on and popped out and surprised my husband for a laugh. I did not think, based on the title, that I would be reading what I did.

    The gifs were good though!

Yeah this. But also, with DD I put on like, 40lbs (almost entirely belly) so maybe you could just make him carry some festive Christmas hams under his shirt lol

At the same time, it would be oddly satisfying to force DH to try being pregnant for a while.

Took what too far?  Explain please.
I'm hoping that was aimed at the "electroshock therapy" suggestion. A little too "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" for me. That was also, too far in my mind. lolz.

  • My husband got the machine for his neuropathy pain and we happen to be very curious and playful together. Also, I've seen it done on many, many shows. (We tend to ignore the "do not try this at home" warnings. Ooooo, bad us) Playful and curious is something every couple should have in their relationship. If that makes me crazy, so be it. However, we are mucho happy! :)
