Pregnant after a Loss

Showing

Ok ladies, I am just wondering if it is true that the shorter you are the faster you will show? Someone said this to me. I am very bloated right now and look several months along. I know I definitely got huge in the past but it was so long ago I don't remember when I started showing and I did not have this bloating. I am 5 feet 1 inch tall. Anyone else find this to be true?

Re: Showing

  • Not sure how far along you are, but I think my stomach looked just as big at 6 weeks from bloat as it does now at nearly 12 weeks.  I use my doppler every week or so, and I know that my baby is still sitting well below the waistline of my pants, so most of my real bump is hidden by my clothes.  I do look just as pregnant as some friends who are about a month further along than I am, but I can't help but wonder if carrying two little ones to 11-12 weeks twice in the last year hasn't contributed to that a bit?  (One being just this past June.)  Honestly, everyone is so different.

  • I am also 5'1 and didnt show very early. In fact most people didn't know/notice until I was around 22 weeks +. I feel like I am making up for it now though people still tell me I look small for how far along I am. I think it's just something they tell me to make me feel better :)

  • I'm 5'3" and this is my 4th pregnancy. I looked pregnant early and stayed that way. Blump turned into baby bump and I've looked 8-9 months pregnant for the last couple months (according to innocent bystanders at least). If you have a short torso, there's just no room for the organs and such to go but out, so it may not technically be a baby bump yet, but it's definitely caused by baby and will soon be replaced by baby.

  • I'm also 5'1 and feel bloated, but not necessarily showing just yet. I don't think it's true that the shorter you are the faster you will show. I'm hiding the belly though with lose shirts and sweaters.

  • I am 5'1 as well.  With my first pregnancy, I didn't show until about 17 weeks (and that was with twins).  WIth this singleton, I bloated quickly around 8 weeks and then the growth slowed down for a bit.  Now it actually looks like I'm a bit behind the growth schedule.  I think every body and every pregnancy is different.
  • I'm 5'1" and very tiny. I have been noticeably bloated for about 4 weeks. I'm 11 weeks. I was the same way with DS. I lost the bloat for a few weeks starting around 13 weeks then all of a sudden had a bump.
