Red bumpy neck rash?

Yes, I realize I should ask my Doctor- But, I am of course moving across country and waiting for our house to be ready and alas, no new doctor or insurance transferred yet. Anyone else had this....its a shiny red bumpy rash, just about the size of a quarter in the only area left on her that is a folded over in her neck. Shes a skinny one not a ton of rolls. Before we left her old Dr she said to just put some cornstarch on it to keep it dry as its a small rash from moisture. Well, I guess I didnt do that enough and it looks worse now. She doesnt seemed bothered by it but I want it gone, I'm so worried now! Anyone else had this and used something I dont know about? My plan is to keep it dry, use cornstarch and maybe some of the diaper rash cream I have? I also read its yeast and that she may need Rx cream? My baby has super sensitive skin so I dont want to go too crazy.  Help!

Re: Red bumpy neck rash?

  • LO gets redness in the folds of his neck when I don't clean his "cheese neck" often enough... I put Vaseline on it overnight and it helps!

  • What @Kbmac‌ said. If this is really a yeast infection the cornstarch will likely feed the yeast and make the rash worse. LO struggles with neck rashes frequently. When he had a yeast infection on the neck/chin our pedi had us use 1% Clotrimazole cream. It improved dramatically but we are still dealing with some residual dryness.

  • I just took LO in for a similar sounding rash in one armpit and it was yeast, we have a prescription cream now that seems to be helping. Try to keep it clean and dry until u get to a dr

  • I, mostly, end up using johnson baby powder (just a little bit) for the redness of skin. It seems to help so far.
  • Just keep it clean and apply aquaphor or diaper cream every do often- should help!
