I actually am having the same issue. So I went and purchased some wides. I would suggest clarks...for a comfy shoe. Not the most provocative, but none the less comfy...or hush puppies.
Dr. Scholl's has made my most comfy shoes so far. You can find them at Wal-Mart.
I currently have 20+ pairs of shoes and there is only one pair I can wear to work. They are falling apart and have holes in them but they are still better than the Dansko's in my locker. I think Natural Soul makes them. My feet are swollen and fat and sore and sick of retail!
I have a couple of pairs of ballet flats from Payless that are good for when I'm swelled because they stretch...I wear them for work. They are obviously really inexpensive too. I got them because I was afraid my feet would grow during pregnancy and I would have been super pissed if I bought more expensive shoes that I outgrew in a couple of months.
For me, it was more getting the swelling under control. None of my shoes fit starting around 20 weeks. I bought compression stockings and that saved me. I can now wear all my shoes again. Like magic!

Mephisto makes some comfortable shoes that come in wider widths. They are expensive but you can often find really good sales (Sears outlet for example).
I wear danskos to work. I have three pairs. Only one of them fits me now though. The great thing about them is that each pair is handmade so when you go try them on no two shoes are the same. You can keep trying on the size you need until you find one that is wide enough or has enough of an arch. I'm scared if I can't fit in this last pair before I deliver. I guess I will have to wear sneakers which I hate, I don't want body fluids in my socks! Lol
That's what my OB friend always says. She wears Danskos at work because sneakers, although also comfortable, are too messy with all of the bodily fluids she deals with. Always puts gross images in my head!
I have closed toe crocs that I'm wearing to work. They're black and they mostly blend in. I also have a pair of stretchy ballet flats from Payless that are a dream!
Compression stockings (medium compression, put them on immediately after waking) + Dr. Scholls in a size that fits at the peak of your swelling, usually in the evening.
I love Dansko's too, but they are tough to get on right now. I ended up buying a pair of Lands End clogs for like $40 (they always have 25% off coupons) and have some dressy options. The wides have been great. When I don't need to dress up I go with Uggs.

Re: Shoes
I also like White Mountain and Cliffs. I have a few and call them my "Nana" shoes, but you can find cute, dressy ones that are comfy.
