Belly band!!

I finally had to give in and start wearing my belly band to work, and omg! How was I not doing this sooner?? You're telling me I get to walk around with my pants undone? I feel so freeeee! Would I be judged if I continue to wear the band after baby comes? :-P

  • I have a love/hate relationship with my belly band.  It's more comfortable than buttoned-too tight pants, but I definitely know that I'm wearing it.  I'm also still in "hiding" mode from  my students and it makes my bump more pronounced.

I have 1 pair of full panel jeans and love them.  I still need to find some dress pants.  It's hard to get them in a short leg (I'm 4'11") and I don't have the time or energy to get my pants hemmed.  Anyone have some good, relatively inexpensive ones to recommend?

  • Belly band and Bella band have been lifesavers. And I wear them till I can for into prepreg pants. So basically they are the best things ever.
  • I wore my bella band for the first time yesterday...I wore it upside down!! :-??

  • I'm not sure what's wrong with mine, but my pants still fall down with the bella band on! I'm all about leggings and stretchy skirts for now :)

  • I couldn't stand the belly band and think maternity pants are so much more comfortable. I don't like having to get pants hemmed either and Motherhood Maternity has pants that come in petite and work well for me (a smidgen over 5 feet).
  • I'm just jealous you only now started wearing it. I've been living in mine for the last two months.
  • I hate mine. I find it uncomfortable and it constantly bunches up which is annoying. I also can't find maternity jeans that I find comfortable. I had a few from old navy that I ended up returning. I'm with pp on the leggings. I never wore them prepregnancy and now they're all I wear!

I've had to wear a belly band since 13 weeks since it was uncomfortable to sit with buttoned pants. I gave into maternity jeans though 2 weeks ago (17 weeks) because my belly band would slowly go from starting under my butt to riding up over the top of my pants. Then my butt crack would be visible to all.
  • I used the "hair tie/ rubber band trick" and it left those red indents in my skin. Tried that once, bought the Bella Band soon after and never looked back, so comfy
  • @marirosem07‌ Glad you're comfortable
I just haven't gotten to wearing mine, it's just not staying put. Maybe I need to be bigger (FTM at 18 weeks)

I'm a ftm so I'm barely showing (it honestly may even just be bloat still) at 17 weeks, which I'm happy about because I still haven't really told anybody yet. I'm actually telling my mom tomorrow, and it'll be her first grandchild, so fingers crossed that goes well.

  • I love the belly band. I started wearing it pretty early on. I am mostly wearing maternity pants and leggings now, but the belly band is still coming in handy every now and then.
  • I hate the belly band. I find myself adjusting it all the time.
