  • Nope. My diabetes nutritionist will not let me touch those due to the artificial sweeteners in them. Just water and milk at night for me!

No, I don't drink diet sodas because of the aspartame. For some reason, I break out every time I ingest something with aspartame. I do consume drinks with sucralose/splenda but not soft drinks because I think the coke with splenda tastes aweful. It is usually a flavored carbonated water.

    Yes, I do have GD.

    Oh I'll bite.

I used to dump Equal (yes, the blue packets) on my Cheerios as a kid. I put sugar free syrup on my pancakes. If I want to have a soda here and there, I drink diet ...
So, is it difficult finding pants that fit because of the tail you grew or have you learned to work around it?
    ;)

  • Nope.  I drink water and milk.  If I want a soda, I will go for a smaller version of a regular Pepsi.  Artificial sweeteners are not my friend.
Married on October 20, 2012.  Began trying in January 2013.
RE appointment & testing December 2013 - February 2014= Unexplained IF, possible endometriosis
IUI#1- March 22 (100mg clomid, 75 mg of Bravelle, Ovidrel trigger) = BFP!!!

  • I do not have them regularly. I've had a few Coke Zeros throughout my pregnancy because I've craved a Coke but didn't want to blow my carb limit. Otherwise, if I want a pop, I just have a regular and have a can instead of a big bottle. Otherwise, it's water the majority of the time.
Try some of the flavored sparkling waters. Or get some of those Crystal Light packets to mix into water. Those really help me whenever I'm craving something with a little flavor.

Hmmmm. Not cool. If you know anyone that lives with Type I Diabetes... not Type II and not GD... you probably wouldn't be judging their consumption habits.

  • i've been sticking to my half decaf iced coffee every day but switched from sugar to splenda. still getting used to the taste. :( i used to have an occasional coke but cut that out post diagnosis. my nutritionist told me diet iced tea was ok, but i haven't been drinking it.

  • Prior to GD - I was 2 years clean of diet soda and crystal light but since GD I have had a diet pepsi about once a week. I had switched to fresh fruit in my water but I had to give up fruit with GD and sometimes water just doesnt cut it with Mexican Food (Im from Cali). My OB actually told me that with GD diet soda is sooo much better. So drink on.
