How much coffee are y'all drinking? The first week after my positive test I didn't drink any, but now I am completly exaushted! I am 5w4d. Are y'all drinking coffee/caffenine? If so, how much??
Everything in moderation
I'm trying to cut back a little, but I'm a full time working mom of a 2.5 year old who doesn't get home from work till 1am. Not drinking coffee just isn't going to happen! And, way tmi, it seems to be the only thing that helps the damn pregnancy constipation!
Haha that is true!!! & I know, I work 2 jobs usually 12 hr days! I lived on coffee up until a week ago so cutting back is killing me! But totally worth it!:)
I drink a cup every morning. I drank a cup of STRONG tea during my last, but with a 2 year old, that is simply not going to cut it. I would do anything for a second cup later in the day, but like my tea, I like my coffee STRONG, so that's not an option for me and not a habit I want to get into.
BFP 1/24/2012 - DS Born 9/22/2012 (11 days early!)
I just quit cold turkey when I found out Saturday that were expecting. I told myself when I'm in my 2nd trimester I'll allow one small cup a day of coffee. But until I'm in the save zone I'd rather not risk it's
I used to drink 3+ teas, and 2+ diet pepsi's in a day. Now I let myself have my tea in the morning and I have switched to caffeine free regular pepsi as a treat when I really find myself craving it. Other than that its been water. ew.
I have my morning latte (must-have) and then I have decaf coffee in the afternoon because I find that it helps me psychologically.
Me: 30; DH: 32
Married since 3/15/08.
Pregnancy 1: BFP on 1/24/11 - Molly born on 10/6/11!
Pregnancy 2: BFP on 11/5/14 - Baby #2 due on 7/17/15!
In between pregnancies, I've grown to love my "other" baby. The "carb baby", that's taken permanent residence in my belly, thanks to my overzealous love of bread, pasta and pastries. Hence my name.
Shortly before we started TTC I cut back to two cups a day- that's the amount my research has me comfortable with for pregnancy, so I figured it would be easier the sooner I started (I was drinking 3-4 cups a day before.)
Right after getting my BFP I was drinking two cups a day but then I started getting a stomach ache if I had more than one, and since the beginning of MS last week I can only handle about 3/4 of a cup or I feel terrible. I'm hoping that'll pass and I can get back up to two cups, though- I need the caffeine to function normally.
Caffeine is okay in moderation. 8 oz of coffee is considered safe. I'm trying not to over-analyze everything because that puts too much stress and unnecessary anxiety on myself when I should be enjoying this time. I have always only had one cup a day, so I plan to continue having my little indulgence. And like @babycarb I also sometimes have a cup of decaf in the afternoon to make myself believe I'm having a second cup of "real" coffee. I love the taste and have a really hard time functioning without coffee in the morning. I am being extra careful not to have any extra caffeine, though, so I steep my tea twice and have been staying away from cokes.
I'm a pretty light coffee drinker (one cup a day, tops), but I'm very sensitive to it...it makes my boobs hurt, and I don't need any extra help with that right now. I weaned off when I suspected I was pregnant, about a week before BFP. I've switched to decaf coffee and regular tea. I drink a lot of tea, but I reuse the tea leaves almost all day at work.
I completly cut coffee out of my life when we got our BFP. I would drink 2..3 cups a day before we found out the good news! I am pretty proud of myself for doing so well
I WISH I could still drink my coffee... cut it out about a week ago as it seems to bring on the nausea. Hopefully I can pick it back up when MS fades away. Usually one cup, sometimes two on a rough day lol
I always have one cup in the morning. Before my BFP, I was having 2 - 3 a day. Right about now, I'm dying for my second cup. Guess I'm having my decaf tea...
I cut down to one when we decided to TTC. Since then I'm on half caff but only because DH bought the wrong one I'm still going to be a one cup a day person.
I cut out caffeine completely with my first, but with a toddler at home I don't think that's going to work for much longer. I'm trying to make it to 12 weeks or so without though. DH is very concerned about the effects of coffee so I try to respect that as much as possible.
