Working on my registry, & looking for advice on a baby sling or wrap carrier. This is during the newborn stage, & will be mostly used by me. Not sure if it matters, but I'm 5'4" with petite-normal build. Planning to switch over to a Ergo carrier once the baby gets heavier. Just not a fan of the ergo during the infant stage, even with the infant insert.

Yes, it is very easy to do! I just bought another one so that I have a different color option and practiced with my friends baby lol. It is just like I remember. The fabric is super soft and learning how to wrap them is easy. I used mine with DS quite a bit through the first 6 months or so!
I had to google scarf truck! I see what you are saying - hips need to be spread wider. Oh well, it was the last one at only 15 bucks and now I know why. Thanks for the info
I LOVE woven wraps. They're expensive, but one woven wrap can get you from newborn days long through toddlerhood. I have a Girasol that I started using when my son was about a week old and still wear him in at 2.5 years. It is so soft, comfortable, and versatile. Bonus: you can use it as a blanket to sit on or warm your baby with if you stop somewhere.
I also have a Wrapsody Bali Breeze. It cost a lot less, is equally versatile, and is much cooler in the summer. I don't find it as comfortable because the gauze fabric is a bit rough. Using it more would probably soften it up.
I had a Sakura bloom silk ring sling but never liked it as much. I felt it was more difficult to properly create the pocket and make all of the tiny adjustments to crest a secure hold than just tossing my wrap on. Also, once my son was a bit older and stronger (8 or 9 months?) he would always stand up on my hip, which would take his weight out of the pocket and lose the tension that held him securely. That's when I ditched the sling.
There's lots of K'tan love, but I hated it and returned it. My son was only 7.5 lbs, but still drooped far below my waist in it because the fabric stretched so much. The saleswoman when I returned it (specialty babywearing store) told me I needed an extra small, which was two sizes below what K'tan's size chart recommended.
