low risk from NT scan but high risk from Verifi test

Hi!
I had the NT scan at 12 weeks. The NT measured 1.26 mm, so super low and they did see a nasal bone. Then we did the verifi test and it came back "high." We were told that we should believe there is a problem since this test claims 99% accuracy. However, We did have a second gestational sac very early in pregnancy, but never saw a 2nd heartbeat. Did anyone have any results like this where the NT ultrasound looked great, but the blood work came back high risk? Could this be a false positive due to the 2nd sac? HELP please!

  • I don't have any experience but I hope all is ok and you are able to get some more definitive answers with additional testing. I seem to recall that Verifi, Maternit21 etc don't work with twins, so perhaps the second gestational sac really threw off the results. My fingers are crossed for you! I know the waiting/not knowing is so hard. Hugs.

  • i don't have experience with that and it sounds really complicated - definitely a concern to be voiced to your doctor. Did you get to talk with her/him when they called with the results??? and did they say which chromosome?
  • Yes, I've also read twins can throw off the results. So we are praying and hoping its a false positive! It's torture not knowing! We have a follow up ultrasound 11/20 to reassess risk. They said it came back high risk for Downs Syndrome.
  • I'm not in your situation but, I wish you all the best with your follow up testing.
