Thanks for the comments. I've been on the fence about it. I like it but I don't know if I'd still like it down the road. I definitely don't want a hipster baby in skinny jeans, lol!
I actually know a great couple that named their son Hendricks. The name had nothing to do with Jimi. At first it was a little different, but now that he's here, the name totally fits him!
On our son's fussball team, there is a Hendrik and a Henrich (in Europe). Kind of similar. We have a Henry so between all those H names it gets confusing:)
I wouldn't use it unless you intend it to be an homage to Jimi Hendrix and are 100% certain your DS will be happy to be a walking Jimi Hendrix homage for his entire life.
Also, random trivia: my high school chemistry teacher also taught Jimi Hendrix (yes, I'm old, and she was very old).

Thanks again for all the input. My husband and I aren't even big Jimi Hendrix fans, so it definitely wouldn't be after him but we wouldn't ever hear the end of it.
Bumping it to the middle name is a thought, but we'll likely go with a family name. I do like Maddox but can't handle the whole Angelina thing.
I love that Pax means peace. Maybe I'll look into other "peace" names and see if something jumps out at me. Luca is good. Good idea for those of you who said to save Hendrix for a dog. My dogs are pretty old (unfortunately), so we'll likely get a couple more in the next few years.
To stick with the "x" theme, I'd chose something like Felix, Dexter, Alexis, Alexandre, or Maximus. I would never, ever use Hendrix. Unless I was somehow related to Jimi.
I know a little boy named Hendrix. So I love the name. He is almost 6 years old and people gave his mom a hard time about the name, until he was born and their was a baby attached to it.
