Today in Canada/UK/Australia it is Remembrance Day, in America it's Veterans Day. I want us to take a moment to honour all these amazing men and women. Tell us who makes you proud.

  • I don't have anyone in my family or close to me who serves but I am FOREVER grateful to the men and women who serve(d) our country! They, along with their family and friends, are amazing individuals who are giving/gave the ultimate sacrifice.

THANK YOU! Veterans, those currently serving and thank you STRONG mamas on our board and throughout the country. You are all amazing.

  • Thank you to veterans everywhere that have served and are serving our country. I am eternally grateful for what so many men and women have put on the line for the safety and freedom of our country.
A special thanks to my dad who was in the Navy while I was a baby, to my uncle and cousin who were also in the Navy for many years, and to one of my best friends in the Marines right now.
  • Remembrance Day for me has always revolved around my family and friends who serve and continue to serve, but also to the unknown soldiers who sacrifice their lives for me to have a better life. To me this poem by John McCrae is the definition of Remembrance Day, as I'm sure is for many Canadians. This is why Canadians wear poppies to honour our Canadian forces, it has deep seeded meaning in Canadian culture. I would like to share this with everyone as this day comes to a close.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
    In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
    In Flanders fields.
