DS is 8 months now and has started eating solids 2x a day (we're doing BLW). Typically, I pump 2x at work (I'm away for 8hrs) and 1x before bed. I've got a pretty decent stash going. Last week, things were crazy at work and I was only able to pump 1x a day at work (I was still able to pump before bed.) That, along with a 4oz bag of frozen, was more than enough for LO's following day. Things are settling at work now... I still can't believe we've been BF for this long and would really like to see if we can make it to at least a year. Any advice on whether or not I should add the 2nd pump back at work now that this week is a little better? TIA!!
Re: Drop a pumping session?
I agree with @casey78. Over the months, I've seen several posts about a decrease in pump output around 9 months. The same happened to me too. I had a "decent" freezer stash too (200+ oz), and was able to bridge the gap between what I was pumping at work those last few months, versus what she was taking at DC to limp over the finish line at 1 year. (In fact, 3 days before her birthday I had DC begin giving her one bottle of WCM each day since my freezer stash was gone).
If there is a work reason you can't do the 2 sessions, that's a different situation, but it seems like you can work it in again. Personally, I'd still do the 2nd pump, unless your stash is in the upper hundreds to the thousand mark.
