Diaper bag

i know I can google and get tons of lists... But my N14 moms know better than the strangers on Google.

Someone recently suggested that I go ahead and pack a diaper bag and have it waiting at home..

So what goes on there??? I hadn't a clue, except the obvious diapers and wipes!

I agree with having a bag all ready to go. There have been a couple times where we had to leave the house on short notice with a small baby and not having to think about what was/wasn't in the diaper bag helps a lot.

Aside from diapers and wipes, this is what I keep in it;

bags for soiled diapers

Clean pacifier and pacifier wipes

At least one full change of clothes (blowouts happen at the worst times)

1 or 2 bottles with premeasured water

Formula dispenser

1 or 2 burp cloths

1 or 2 bibs

camera (yeah, I'm that mom)

I also keep my wallet in there because I'm probably not going anywhere without baby and I don't want to carry a diaper bag AND a purse.

FTM, but I read an awesome tip about storing a change of clothes in ziploc bag (I'm sure a wet bag would work or something similar). So when LO has a blowout, or spills, or does who knows what, you have a safe spot to put the dirty clothes so the diaper bag stays clean.

ETA: And if you have room a clean top for mom isn't a bad idea

I have mine semi-packed, and besides diapers/wipes/changing pad I have little mini/travel sized hand sanitizer and diaper cream, nursing pads, a few bags for dirty diapers and/or wet clothes, a stroller blanket, a small toy, and a hat. I'll need to add clothes and a pacifier before taking it out, possibly the nursing cover if nursing goes well depending on where I'm going.

I never even thought about bags for the dirty diapers/poop covered clothes!!! aaagghhh!! Now I have to edit my packed diaper bags again!!! lol......I planned to put one of our 2 filled diaper bags in the car when we go to the hospital.

Most everything I would recommend has been mentioned. However, I just remembered how much stuff you need to carry in an infant's diaper bag and I still have to add stuff for DD.
Also I try not to use wipes on faces so I usually carry a pack of those hand and face wipes.
