Tablet for DD for Christmas?

Three years ago DS got the first LeapPad. We have probably 10 games and several apps. The tablet itself is beat to shit, but still kind of works. DS now has a kindle. DH and I have Apple devises.

Does it sound ridiculous to buy a a new LeapPad for DD (almost 4) or should I just get her her own Kindle? My biggest selling points for the LeapPad are that she would use a stylus versus her finger and that we already have so many games.

Also, if you think the LeapPad is the way to go, she we get the LeapPad 3 or the Ultra XDi? I read an Amazon review that said the old games were fuzzy on the larger XDi screen. Can you only download LeapPad approved apps on them? I would ideally want Netflix and Amazon Video Player, but it isn't a deal breaker.

Thanks!

  • There's a new Kindle for kids that was just released. I was looking at it and thinking if I were to get a tablet for DS I'd get that one. It comes with a year of Amazon FreeTime Unlimited for apps and a 2-year warranty so if it breaks they will replace it.

  • We just got the new Kindle for kids for Cade. He's obsessed with our phones, so he got this tablet as an early birthday present. It's great! Come's with the gorilla glass, special kid case, and the no questions asked replacement. The FreeTime Unlimited stuff is just a bonus, on top of the low price. We've really liked it and so has Cade. :)
