I selected traditional top loader, but mine Fies have a water sense feature that limits the water level based on load size, but it's not actually an HE top loader.
Old top loader gets used for most loads of diaper laundry but nothing has topped handwashing for making dh think I'm nuts. Handwashing flats can be fun once in a while but would not be willing to tackle handwashing king size sheets.

When we lived in FL, I remember my mom doing laundry by hand when the power would be out for a week due to hurricanes. She even has a big black cauldron (wash pot) for heating water and a double washtub stand.
