Sick baby!

DD has had a fever all weekend. A steady 102°, and yesterday she threw up a few times. So I tried to get her to drink pedialyte or water throughout the day and she was not having it. And she was all about tantrums yesterday, especially toward bed time. After I had put her down the first time. I burned my hand reheating dinner and she woke up shortly after that happened. The next hour to hour and a half was her melting down because the cool rag I had on my hand wasn't a toy that she could play with.

I'm hoping to bring her into the doctor today, to make sure that she doesn't have the flu on top of this ear infection she's already got...

Can't wait for DD to feel better, always sucks to be sick.

  • And my son has the flu. He just flooded my bed and my pillow and my sweat shirt with vomit. Now im doing laundry and watching mickey mouse club house at 11:48 at night.

I can honestly say i learned one thing from all.the hard partying i used to do. I can clean up vomit without gagging(while drunk).

  • DD is doing great now. Except she does NOT want ANYTHING to do with the meds she needs for the ear infection.

  • B threw up a total of three times last night, twice in my bed once on the couch. He was also running a fever of 102.5 around two this morning. I didnt get him to sleep till about four. His fever went down to 99.5 this morning but once his tylenol from early this morning wore off it went back up to 102. So were going to have a long couple days.

@St3wd ive been dealing with the gross for awhile. At 19 i was a care giver in an assisted living home for the elderly. But a couple years ago i was married to an alcoholic and best friends with one. They were bad influences that turned me into a drunk. Any ways there were a few nights id have to wakeup with a shit faced xh and clean up after his drunk self threw up on our floor/bed/me.

  • @20thirteen It's good to hear HQ is doing better! I always hated ear infection meds, so sympathy there. :(

@MinnesotaMomma91 Noooo... :( Try to keep him hydrated. Poor thing.

Also, I'm glad you're out of there. It's great that you can handle it and have moved onto better things, but reading that story made me image

  • @St3wd hes getting lots of water and juice. Helpful mom tip, dont give kids(or yourself) milk when you have a stomach bug.

Im really proud of myself for sobering up.

  • Now I'm sick. >.<

It moved from my sinuses to my chest last night and I felt like I was drowning. :( Gaaaah, good thing I have a dr appointment coming up soon if it doesn't get better.

    How are your kids doing?

  • DD is doing great, we had a bit of a debacle yesterday trying to get DC to give her medication for her ear infection to her in the morning.

    Rundown:

DC suddenly changed their policy to require a doctor's note for children under 2 years of age allowing the daycare to give the child medicine, must list what the medicine is, what it's for, how much to give, and how many times a day.  Called doctor's office to request the note.  Doctor's office calls back 2.5 hours later (by the time they called back, I had already returned from my lunch break) to tell me that DD needs meds given to her at home.  I gave them a little rundown of how impossible it would be for me to give her meds in the am and why I want the note for DC to do only the morning dose, office repeats DD needs meds given to her at home, per the doctor's orders.  No actual reason given.

I will be switching doctor's offices soon.

I'm going to teach DD the middle finger. So I can dress her pretty like this:

  • I should also mention, I told BF about what had happened and he said "Maybe they want to eliminate the factor of having multiple people giving small children to reduce the chance of accidental extra doses because of poor communication."

If the doctor's office called back and said "we want to limit how many people give [DD] her medication and, therefore, the doctor will not write a note allowing the daycare to administer her medication."I would not be angry.  But that they did not, and apparently could not, explain why it was that I had to give her the meds at home makes me so mad.

  • He had a good point, but it was probably a laziness thing. If the office uses that policy, they would have stated it.
