After the miscarriage last week I'm surprised the levels are still above "0". I went to the lab today and they were at 7.5. It's amazing how fast the levels dropped from in the thousands down to 200 last monday...it must have slowed down quite a bit after the baby passed. Surprised me I guess. We were wanting to wait at least one cycle, although Dr said since I was only 7 weeks we could go ahead and try once the levels got down to "0". We may have accidently ttc on New Years... I'm assuming the "7.5" is from the mc...and not a new one. How long does it usually take for any kind of measurement of the hormone to show up? Anyone have any ideas? Is it possible to show some kind of level of hcg in the body 5 days after having sex?
Hm...
Re: Levels haven't reached "0" yet...
I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. I m/c at 6.5 weeks and was still getting positive pg tests 6 weeks later. They were extremely faint, but definite lines.
Hopefully you'll get af within a few weeks and you'll know for sure that your levels are at 0.
I believe that level would be considered "not pregnant." You could ovulate and get pg with low levels like that.
P.S. see my post above, the low levels may stimulate multiple ovulation and increase your chances of pg...
Oh wow. That is crazy... just shows how different pregnancies are for an individual.
Well hopefully you can get your levels down soon so you can ttc again! Are you going to wait a couple of cycles? Have you had a period while your levels were still high? I'm assuming not but I'm just trying to educate my self.
