Today in Canada/UK/Australia it is Remembrance Day, in America it's Veterans Day.
I want us to take a moment to honour all these amazing men and women. Tell us who makes you proud.
My hormonal self can't handle Veterans Day. I have cried at every single tribute to our troops and veterans that I have seen over the last few days. At the hockey game that we were at over the weekend it was a tribute to veterans. They had a veteran drop the ceremonial first puck and every single player off of both benches came up to shake his hand. I couldn't stop crying.
I'm worried I'm going to be a total wreck at the Remembrance Day service today. It always makes me emotional and with my pregnancy emotions it could be extra tough. My husband is in the military as are many of our friends, I'm so proud of them! I just can't help but feel for the families of those who have lost loved ones because I picture these people I know personally and it hits me hard.
"In the morning and in the evening, we will remember them."
My Grandfather served in the Korean War. And although my youngest brother isn't a Veteran yet, he has decided to enlist into the Navy after he graduates high school this spring. I'm pretty proud of the decision he has made, I know he'll serve our country well.
My brother was in Dessert Storm in the early 90s. I was only like 10ish when he left for about 6mo. I remember my mom just crying daily and constantly watching CNN for updates. I was a kid so it didn't hit me as hard bc I don't think I realized how dangerous it all actually was. As an adult, I applaud all the military servicemen and women and their families. I can't even begin to imagine what being deployed or having a spouse deployed is like. Much respect and gratitude to everyone who has kept and are keeping our country safe!
I am so humbled (and at the same time proud) to have many of my cousins and friends in the military--everyone's sacrifice is incredible and we should thank and honor you everyday. The picture attached looks to be the branches of US Military but to the all Veterans all around the world: thank you so much for your sacrifice, your bravery, your dedication and so much more. We love you and we honor you.
These two men right here are my proud veterans. The left is my husband who proudly served in the USAF. And the right is my Great-uncle who stormed the beaches in WWII and miraculously played dead after having his knee blown to pieces. Last week they honored all WWII vets in Washington D.C. Happy Veterans Day and thanks to all who serve(d)!
My great Uncle, who was probably one of the most influential people in my life until he passed 7 years ago, was a Provost Marshall Sgt. Major in the US Army. He served in the 82nd Airborne Division and with the Army Rangers. He served in Japan, Korea, and twice in Vietnam. Thank you THANK you to all that have served or continue to serve.
Both of my grandpas served in the Korean War. Thank you to all service members, past and present!!
My husband and I both serve, it was my 8 year anniversary last month and 10 for my DH... Couldn't think of a job I would rather do more and love serving my country!

I love my Veterans! Especially my disabled combat veteran who has shown me not only what true love is but true strength. He never complains about being disabled and wishes every day he could go back to being a Marine. This picture was taken last Valentine's Day and swoon he looks SOOO mighty fine in his uniform
Ps. Lots of places are doing free meals for veterans and active duty! We're going to Olive Garden for dinner (free meal for vets) followed by a free scoop of ice cream at Baskin-Robbins!
My husband a Specialist in the ARMY. My best friend is a Sargent in the ARMY. My uncle was in the Air Fore. And another uncle of mine was in the Navy. And I have SEVERAL friends that are in the ARMY because of my connections with that branch.
I'd like to say that I'm proud of each and everyone of them!!
I don't have anyone in my family or close to me who serves but I am FOREVER grateful to the men and women who serve(d) our country! They, along with their family and friends, are amazing individuals who are giving/gave the ultimate sacrifice.
THANK YOU! Veterans, those currently serving and thank you STRONG mamas on our board and throughout the country. You are all amazing.
I have many friends in the military as well as family!!
A big shout out today to my dad who is in Afghanistan. This is his 6th deployment. I can't wait for my dad to be home and see my growing bump & get to actually relax & be excited about his first grandchild.
First, i want to say thank you to the ladies who have served or have husbands serving right now. I always want to thank those with other family members. Thank you for your services!
I want to honor my sister, my brother, and my brother in law for their service in the Marine Corps. I'd like to honor my grandfather Jerry for serving in the Marine Corps and my grandfather John for serving in the Army. I'm so very proud of all of them.
All four of my grandparents had a role in WW2, fighting for England. I only have one of them left, so it's nice to have another day of the year to remember them.

My uncle served. On a side note, I am thankful for all the four legged veterans too, they are forgotten often. Thank you to the past, present and future veterans! Of course this includes their families that went through it all too in their own way.
Thank you to all the amazing veterans who have served and all active duty who continue to serve. Thank you for your courage and sacrifice.
A special shout out to all the men in my family who have served. Both my grandfathers who served in WWll one served in the Pacific the other in Europe. My father and uncle, my father went to Germany to guard the Berlin Wall my uncle in Vietnam. Finally DH who was in the Navy during the war on terror thank you.
Both my grandfathers were in the military and served in ww2 and the Korean War. My brother was in the Air Force and my husband is currently in the army. My pregnant was a little gift before deployment. Here is s picture of my brother and husband on my wedding day
Thank you to veterans everywhere that have served and are serving our country. I am eternally grateful for what so many men and women have put on the line for the safety and freedom of our country. A special thanks to my dad who was in the Navy while I was a baby, to my uncle and cousin who were also in the Navy for many years, and to one of my best friends in the Marines right now.
It is so nice to see this post. I am a veteran and I was lucky enough to have lunch with my dad today who is also a veteran. DH's father and grandfather are also veterans. We all served in the Army.
Remembrance Day for me has always revolved around my family and friends who serve and continue to serve, but also to the unknown soldiers who sacrifice their lives for me to have a better life. To me this poem by John McCrae is the definition of Remembrance Day, as I'm sure is for many Canadians. This is why Canadians wear poppies to honour our Canadian forces, it has deep seeded meaning in Canadian culture. I would like to share this with everyone as this day comes to a close.
In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.

Also, thank you to both of H's grandpas. They both served in WWII. One was shot down over Germany and spent 2 years as a prisoner of war.
