DS passed out

My Twins were playing today and one of them closed the others hand in the door. I got to him right away but when I picked up he was limp and then passed out. He woke up immediately. I called the doctor right away and he said it was from him not breathing when he got hurt. He was fine the rest of the day. It scared me so bad though. Has anyone had this problem?

Oh my gosh.  Sorry that happened.  No advice, but I'm glad he is okay

  • Oh my goodness, how scary. I hope his hand is ok. Sometimes I feel the need to bubble wrap my kids.

  • No I'm sorry, I've never experienced this. This would be so incredibly terrifying though! Hope that was just a one time thing and fingers crossed that his hand feels better, poor little guy!
  • That is very scary, I have never heard of this happening. I'm sorry
  • Oh goodness I would freak out, I have often wondered if this was possible. I hope his hand feels better, glad he's ok.
  • Scary! My friends son is 3 now but I remember her telling me he would cry so hard he would pass out from not taking a breath. Sometimes when I notice my LO getting worked up and not taking a breath I'll blow in her face. Glad he is ok!!

  • I have definitely heard of this happening before, but that doesn't make it any less scary! Glad he's alright.

  • Yeah, Willa's done that twice while crying really hard. Super scary, but I guess it's fairly normal. I read up on it, and you should come up with a way to snap them out of the breath holding...so, the last time, I just yelled her name and it made her stop crying so hard for a second.

Very scary though. I don't wish it upon anyone.
