I worry with every appointment also. It's normal. I just try to remember a few things. I assume the baby is fine unless anyone tells me otherwise. It's reassuring if you can feel the baby moving around. And, you will worry about your child forever, this is just the beginning. Soon we will worry about them while they are sleeping, when they get sick if they are breathing through the night, when they have their first sleep over, and when we have to let them go to school alone. To be a mother is to worry about your kids. You're just being a good mom.
Enjoy your 20.6 week appointment! It's such a beautiful time in your life. Is this your first? Quite honestly no matter if it's you first, third and fifth.. We mothers will ALWAYS worry with every appointment. It's what we do and what makes us "mothers".
By now I would have assumed you have reached all your markers with your pregnancy and that you progressing nicely.. Are you having the fetal anatomy survey where they evaluate baby from head to toe? If so, enjoy it. I loved seeing our babies on the screen. YOU got this. Pregnancy goes by so fast.. make sure you stop to enjoy and embrace every part of it..
Our anxiety is normal and natural. We just have to make sure that we don't let it dictate our lives so it does not have any true repercussions for us or baby. (Something I also need to work on myself. LOL)
Try to read a book (and not a pregnancy book) meditate, accupuncture, get a mani/pedi. Do something for yourself.
I'm going for my first u/s on Wednesday and I am so nervous about it. We haven't heard the heartbeat yet so this will be our first confirmation that everything is ok. I think that it's totally normal to have a bit of anxiety before any big appointment.
FX for a good night of sleep and a great appointment tomorrow!
i've been feeling the same way, and i've only had 2 appts so far. my boyfriend and I after the 10 week appt the baby was kicking and had its hand it its mouth, and we walked outside hugged and said we made that. i always freak out but i see that and it all melts away..
