+1 I buy no other kind for my precious parts!
@KingLED Really? Quilted Northern is like a treat for my ass.
Royal Ass Paper or so my husband calls it. The super soft triple ply. image Since having kids & stitches in my nethers-- soft, strong & luxurious TP is vital. I can't go back.

My husband comes out of the bathroom last night and fist bumps me. I must have looked confused because he then tells me "that new toilet paper was like wiping my butt with silk".

    Well done Cythe, well done.
What kind of toilet paper was it?
My guess is Quilted Northern. 3 ply, FTW
Close, @lilsneezy. @KingLED, @llw42614 it was Quilted Northern ultra plush. Sometimes the expensive toilet paper is not awesome so I find this to be a good compromise.
That's the one I meant! I don't think the regular Quilted Northern is 3 ply.

  • Maybe this would be better for Thursday but I don't like really thick TP.
I think this was a recent UO.

At first glance I thought you were taking a picture of your toilet paper (because of thread context).
I thought the same thing before I read.

I tried dipping a corn dog in nacho cheese.

It was not as good as a regular cheese dog. Disappointment ensued.
Was this Velveeta-like cheese or like a chunk of cheese melted down in the pot?

A corn dog with molten Brie is magnificent.

Canned nacho cheese. Like you would get at a ball park.

  • DH and I are going to a "Red carpet Gala" to benefit Child and Family Services, (his company is one of the Sponsor's), on Saturday night. I'm kind of nervous, never been to something like this before. Any comments? Has anyone been to something like this before?
@missdaisy925 I have.  For the past couple of years, my husband and I have gone to a Black Tie Gala for a children's charity, too.  Black Tie just means fancy for them, though, we've never done the tux-and-evening-gown route and most of the other supporters don't, either.

I can't speak for any others than the ones I've gone to, but they're fun!  There's a silent auction for the first hour or so, with hors d'oeuvres and the food has always been amazeballs.  Most of the ceremony/event auction items are waaaaaay out of our price range, but there's usually a way for us to donate a modest amount of money that we're comfortable with.  Afterwards, there may or may not be live music and dancing.

Have fun!  Even if you aren't able to donate anything in addition to your husband's company's services, your presence and support means a lot.  And, as weird as this may be, thank you!

I've started to listen to This American Life podcasts (after being hooked by Serial) and I am ADDICTED.

I listen to them at work while staring blankly at an excel document.

    I think I have a problem.
@EmeJay, have you figured out how to download old episodes yet? Also, you might like The Truth podcast. I know I do.
Yes! I downloaded the Podcast Addict app. It's awesome!
  • This made me smile :-).

My randomness - I have almost finished my Christmas shopping and brought my BFF some miracle whip online (you can't get it here and we spent some time travelling in Canada when we were younger and we lived on it with cheeto puffs). Well I opened it and intro'd my dh to its yummyness.

It may become part of my monthly shop ha.

Oh and 3ply tp all the way.

  • I have a random question....have any of you tried the 21 day fix nutrition plan and workout videos? DH and I have done all of the p90x and insanity stuff. And we've both gained about 10 pounds since our wedding so we are looking for a jump start. I don't want to buy the expensive package but I've found enough hacks and downloads online To be able to recreate the plan myself. Anyone tried it? Liked it or hated it?

  • Oh, the corn dog and nacho cheese thing reminds me of the Little Caesars commercial with the pretzel crust and nacho cheese instead of pizza sauce. That thing seriously looks barftastic, I get nauseated every time I see it.

I have no idea what you're talking about, but pretzels and nacho cheese are amazing together.

Oh, yes they are! But there's just something gross to me about incorporating it in with a pizza. It makes me gag.

  • Ok @EmeJay‌, I just finished the most recent "Serial" this morning. What do you think, innocent or guilty?

At the moment, I haven't completely made my mind, but I just can't see how he wasn't involved in any way. The big head scratcher for me is the fact that he never tried to contact her after she "disapeared". Big red flag.

    And you?

@runningmommy519 - I was listening to Harper this afternoon. Crazy. And I have an Android .. maybe it,s an app just for that?

    Oh, man, podcasts.

I just got caught up with Welcome to Night Vale, and I don't know what to do with my life.
Have you listened to Serial? It's ongoing and so intriguing!
  • Omg @emejay, I flipping love serial. It is the highlight of my Thursday morning commute! I am kind of leaning towards innocent... I'm not really sure why though.

Also, so glad to see you back around these parts :)

Anticipating quote fail This reminds me of the Full house episode where Michelle tires to invent a new recipe for a honey bee badge. She would combine two of her favorite things into one. Tuna and ice cream. Yuk!

I seriously miss Full House and all of the glorious hotness of Uncle Jesse. I watched reruns on ABC Family for years and cried when they stopped replaying it. As a side note: my sister and I once told our neighbor's kid that Michelle died at the end of the series. Pretty sure she still believes that.

@DeerNHeadlights It's pretty good, actually, if you consider it's Little Caesar's.  It's basically a cheese pizza with cheese sauce instead of marinara and a pretzel crust.  Pretzel + cheese + more cheese is an easy win in my book.

  • GDI, I haven't read the whole thread but I distinctly went to the grocery store for trying-desperately-to-get-my-cat-to-eat-food AND that giant box of frozen Superpretzel soft pretzels and I just realized I fucking forgot the Superpretzels.
