but if we're talking "real" songs, it would be either be "under the bridge" by red hot chilli peppers, "november rain" by......whoever that group was. guns n roses? or "achy brakey heart" by billy ray cyrus....whichever came out first. i don't really remember the timing.
ohhmygosh I was in looooove with savage garden as a kid. Probably my earliest memory of favorite song was smooth criminal, michael Jackson, none of this alien ant farm remix stuff.
Speaking of cassette tapes, anyone remember recording their favorite songs from the radio on them?? Good times.
You had to sit there and wait for just the right moment to start recording. Otherwise you would either cut off some of the beginning, our you would get some of the intro in your recording. Good times.

When I was a kid and we got cable for the first time, my mom was obsessed with recording on tape from CMT. I remember we could walk into the living room and she would mime at us to shhhh and freeze. Then we would have to wait for the end of the song to starting walking again. Good times
Truly madly deeply by savage garden circa 4th grade lol
That was the first CD I ever bought. My mom colored in the cd sleeve that had a vagina. Haha
Holy crap this makes me feel sooooooo old. I am pretty sure I was on college when this came out. Around the same time as chumbawumba, yeah? So my first songs I loved was Young Love by The Judds, California Dreaming by the Mamas and the Papas and Cecelia by Simon & Garfunkle. All bands my mom loved...so I would play the RECORDS over and over.
Remember calling the radio station to dedicate a song to someone you had a crush on???
When I was about 10, my parents were having a party and they drunk dialed the radio station and somehow got on live. They dedicated a song to my aunt and uncle and got the names wrong and sounded like the drunk people on the spa that they were. Hilarious. #myparentsarepartyanimals
Re: What was your first favorite song?
My mom had home videos of me singing this around the house. I was Whitney OBSESSED.
