Trying to decide if I made the right call or crossed the line to be 'that mom'.
DD1 is in swimming lessons the requirement to move up is an assisted back float for 5sec and submerging for 5 sec. DD can do both these things, but was very squirmy today during her 10 second evaluation with a teacher she's never seen. The regular teacher was not the one who decided what her placement would be for the next session, it was the stranger. After class I asked the front desk what the requirements for the next class are and if we can have someone reevaluate DD. These classes are 15 weeks so I worry that if she is in the wrong level she's going to get really bored with the skills. We have 6 weeks left in the current session.
What say you S12?
For the record I think what I did was okay and DH agrees that asking was the right thing to do, neither of us are going to put up a fight if they want her to stay in the same level and in the grand scheme I don't think it's a huge deal, but I do think it is hard for a two year old to be calm and trust a total stranger in the water.
