Cravings (Nutrition)

Anyone looked up the nutritional information for any of your cravings?

I can't get enough tomatoes and just found that they are high in folate and fiber. Thought it was interesting.

  • I crave nothing but ramen noodles...high in everything bad and esp high in sodium. I'm jealous of your craving!

    Lol. If it makes you feel any better my tomato was served on the side of a bowl of ramen today for lunch.

  • I log all my foods on MyFitnessPal, so I know what's in everything. Can't say I'm proud of my mint chocolate chip ice cream craving, but it is what it is!
  • I always see how much protein is in what I'm eating just cuz I know that's what I need to get a lot of.

    I'm back on a roasted veggie craving tho. Roasted Brussels sprouts, beets, asparagus... omgnomnom.

  • I'm craving the black cherry chocolate chip ice cream I bought. I'm always low in calcium because I forget to take my vitamins.

    I'm lactose intolerant so I can only eat a tiny bit of ice cream at a time. I guess I'll just put a little on top of the bittersweet chocolate dessert topping.

    Craving something you can't/aren't supposed to eat is the WORST. I'm allergic to apples and the past two weeks I've really been wanting apples. Ugh...

  • Cheetos were the craving for the first few weeks...then mac-n-cheese...now mashed potatoes.  Poor baby.

  • I've been eating a RIDICULOUS amount of meat, which is funny because before I got pregnant I could have honestly been a vegetarian. I had steak TWICE this week--completely ridiculous! Guess I need the iron?

    Now that starburst craving....not real sure what to say about that....

    @Angelina08m Have you seen they have bags of JUST THE RED COLORS?!!?!?! Best/Worst invention ever! I'm banning them from my house because I obviously have no self-control!

  • With DD I craved fruit like crazy. I would seriously sit down and eat a whole watermelon (then spent the next 6 hours peeing every 10 mins). This time I'm craving ice cream and hamburgers mmmmmmmmm. I really wish I'd crave fruit again much healthier haha.

    @Starbuck128‌ Who makes this ice cream you speak of??? I absolutely love black cherry anything. I have black cherry hand soap in my bathroom and I drool every time I wash my hands.

    I'm currently indulging in a scoop of Bluebell Peppermint Bark ice cream every night. Ice cream is my craving too and I've especially been craving mint!
  • Ugh I crave absolutely nothing nutritious right now. All I want is breads, bagels, etc. and desserts-all the time. healthy eating is totally out the window.
  • I have been fighting my potato chip and french onion dip craving!  I'm dying to buy it...I bought some hummus instead thinking it would feed my dip craving....nope.

  • My actual craving has been mini blue berry muffins for breakfast I have went through boxes and boxes lol
    Everyday I have a new craving and once I eat it once I don't normally want it again for a while.
  • Apples are my good craving . French fries with tons of vinegar and ketchup are my down fall.
  • I've only been craving junk food.  I've lost a pound though, so it's not going anywhere yet lol

    For the last 3 days I've been back to being super sick and now having aversions again.

  • My last pregnancy was tomatos and chili.  This one nothing really, but this weekend all I wanted was fruit!  
  • um... Reese's peanut butter cups... but not the cups, the special holiday shapes.



    I have not heard of this. Like Reese's in star shapes? I do like the white chocolate version. Yum

  • I have been a vegetarian for two years, and unfortunately my cravings are currently bacon and fried chicken. DH has been so nice about talking me out of caving.  I've avoided bacon and the smell of bacon, and fortunately my chicken craving is specifically for the Fried Chicken from The Plaza at Disneyland so I can stay away from that, too.  If this is any indication of his/her food preferences, LO won't be joining team veggie with DD and I.

    My morning snack was a huge bowl of fresh pineapple. My afternoon snack was a banana and 2 pickles. Then for supper I wanted this steamable brown rice, broccoli, carrots, and a garlic sauce that I get from SAMs.

    This baby is crazy!!!!!

    @amelandre‌ The chocolate milk and bananas sounds awesome. Especially if you add some peanut butter on the banana. I'm going to the store to buy chocolate milk tomorrow. That's protein, potassium, and calcium you can't go wrong.

  • I crave those little Cuties oranges and Raisin Bran. I used to crave french fries but for some reason now they disgust me. Still not eating meat, maybe in a few weeks I will be able to.

  • @AggieAsh23‌ Graeter's makes it. I think it's a Midwest chain, but Kroger carries it nationally. It is the only ice cream that is better than Blue Bell.

    Love me some of that. ;)

    I crave fruits and meat! I have to have me a fruit every day. I don't have a favorite fruit anymore. I like peaches, strawberries, plums, apples, grapes, watermelons, and the list goes on! As for meat, I crave beef the most.

    I was a vegetarian for 5 years before getting pregnant with my daughter 3 years ago and all I craved were my mom's chicken sandwiches and cheeseburgers.  Even though I was determined to keep up a vegetarian pregnancy, I caved because I felt my body was trying to tell me something.  Now, of course, it's hard to get my daughter to eat meat..go figure.  I also planned to go back to being a vegetarian after I gave birth.  I had a steak for dinner tonight.
  • These are great! I was just wondering earlier today what others are craving. Thankfully I'm not much of a sweet eater, even pregnant (so far). I'm a baker so this is a good thing. My craving for weeks has been cottage cheese, a cut up clementine, chopped walnuts and cinnamon....together. During the morning sickness phase, all I wanted was baked potatoes. An aversion food for me has been steak which I've never been a huge fan of, but I haven't even been able to make it for my son. Thanks for the laughs.
  • Each week it's been different- mini White cupcakes w/white frosting and rainbow sprinkles, French vanilla cake mix, ketchup chips, mini cow cheese w/Melba, tomatoes from anyone's garden, curry chicken, butter chicken, toast, red pepper slices, roasted red peppers, cherry icecream, vanilla ice cream, ginger candies, Wendy's baked potatoes with absolutely everything except the broccoli , red velvet cupcakes- omg so good!! Cream of mushroom soup, mushrooms. this week I'm on a cleaning with lemon cleaner kick, and with every craving, somehow it's on sale in the flyer and I get there and it's sold out, I insist on a rain check so now they smile as they see me coming" the rain check lady " lol
    I need an evaluation . I sat down to think about the past 12 weeks it's no wonder my DD is refusing to go to the store.... Lol

  • I'm 14wks today, and I've generally been craving carbs, however, I've been eating cucumbers constantly for a week now. Last night, I put them in a cup of sprite and fished them out and ate them. Lol! Yum! ....now I want some.
  • I have literally eaten nothing but canned pears and cottage cheese for at least 2 days. I put them in the bowl together and it's delicious. Oddly enough, this is something I had never eaten before I got pregnant.
    Canned peaches and cottage cheese here!  Some times I eat it twice a day.

  • All I want is carbs, and more carbs with a side of carbs.

    DH has been forcing the proteins on me which I make faces at and then force down what I can for him. 

    When I do crave something I will eat it and then I don't want it ever again haha.

  • I should also mention that any kind of Halloween candy is amazing as well. Tootsie rolls, Milky Way, Reese's, anything works!!!!
