Re: Pregnancy Check-In (Nov 10th)
QOTW: You and your partner are given a week off work and money isn't an issue where would you travel to and why? Venice because I've always wanted to go!
@mrs&mrsK how was putting the crib together? I am excited to do that because I feel like it is such a big step in getting ready for baby but R sometimes has a short fuse when putting things together so I am hoping it isn't to bad.
Not much new to report here. I have my 24w check-up on Wednesday I am starting to get nervous about my weight gain. Starting in the second trimester I was steadily gaining a pound a week but from 22w to 23w I went up 4lbs. Since I will be meeting with the actual doctor on Wednesday I will get an idea of if I am on track or not. Also I finally got insurance to approve 17P for the remainder of my pregnancy.
QOTW: I want to go on an Alaskan cruise and see killer whales in their natural environment.

"Things separate from their stories have no meaning. They are only shapes. Of a certain size and color. A certain weight. When their meaning has become lost to us they no longer have even a name. The story on the other hand can never be lost from its place in the world for it is that place.” ― Cormac McCarthy, The Crossing
Another week down...17 weeks now! I keep telling myself, "just 3 more weeks until we are half way there!" Our 16 week appointment went well. Little boy's heartbeat was strong and everything seems to be progressing well. I am being particularly careful about weight gain, because I started above my goal weight. I'm up 3 lbs and my OB said to quit stressing about it, that everything was right on track! Gotta love a doctor that isn't overly serious and understands the "real world"!
QOTW: DW (B) and I have been to a quaint private island in Belize twice in the past few years and would love to go back. Nothing to do but drink (lots!), eat and enjoy the ocean activities.
TwoMomsInTX - Welcome to the group! Your 3rd beta sounds very promising and there is no reason not to celebrate the victories and milestones, even if you feel it is still early on!
It's been quite some time since I've done a check in, but there isn't really too much to report.
We found out about 6 weeks ago that we are having a girl! We honestly didn't have a preference one way or the other, but up until we found out I had had a feeling that she was going to be a boy. So, needless to say I was surprised. But we are happy for a healthy baby.
I was diagnosed with GD early (tested early due to weight and family history of type 2), so I've been dealing with that. It's been pretty manageable up to this point. Hoping to stay that way.
My doc mentioned at my appointment today that we should probably plan on an induction around 39 weeks due to the GD. I'm also at a high risk for preeclampsia (I have Lupus) so she is being super vigilant about my BP and such.
QOTW: we are huge Walt Disney World fans, so we would probably go there. We are both suffering from a bit of disney withdrawal, especially since we normally go around Christmas time.
