Interacting with baby in utero.

How are you guys interacting? What about your SOs?

I have been playing baby Mozart and other music on my phone and putting the speaker to my belly. I sometimes sing along. DH rests his head on my belly and talks about nothing but it's cute. I just tried talking to him but it seemed more weird than cute but baby has been kicking ever since.

  • I have only felt the baby kick once... so it kinda feels redundant still. Maybe it will seem more personal when i know sex and i can figure out names...
  • I started playing classical music on my bellybuds for him while away on vacay this weekend -- it caused so much movement that I definitely will stick with it when I get home.

Meanwhile the poor kid was probably kicking to say "trying to rest and grow in here, turn that shit down!"

  • I made a recording of myself singing Over the Rainbow and I play it through headphones to my tummy at night. That way, hubby can watch tv and I won't disturb him. Hoping that when she's here, I will be able to sing it to her to calm her since it'll be something she recognizes.

Hubby will rub my tummy with his fingertips and talk to her at night when we're relaxing on the couch together.

  • DH can't wait to feel the baby kick. For now I think it's surreal for him. My 65lb pit bull is stuck to me like glue and constantly tries to sit ON my belly. Who knows if it's true but I read somewhere that dogs can hear babies moving around & making noise in your belly. I think that's amazing if they can.

I wondered if that was true too. My 65 lb Rottweiler/rabbit hound mix always kind of sniffs my belly then looks at it like something weird is going on there. My husky/Samoyed mix doesn't act any different though

We aren't there yet. But for those who are, it makes me wonder, how awkward does that make sexy time?

I don't remember sex ever being awkward other than positioning. If the baby moved I didn't say anything and DH never felt the baby move while having sex.

DD kisses my belly and sticks her finger in my belly button. That's about it.
@KateRN08, my DD does the same thing!  The past few weeks she has been coming over to me and lifting my shirt to put her face against my belly.  That and putting random things inside my belly button.  She never did that before, I think she knows something is "different."

The soothing vibration of my baritone farts lull the baby into nirvana.

My inner 12 year old laughed so hard that I have RLP.

My favorite time of year is Christmas, Christmas at our house is huge! So a few times a week, I sneak off and play a Christmas song or two so hopefully they will come out singing All I Want for Christmas is You a la Mariah Carey haha. DH loves to try and feel them and talk to them, I hate that he hasn't been able to feel them yet. I agree @superfudge00 when I talk to them, I just feel like a creep talking to my stomach? I'm a "single loudly and obnoxiously in the car by myself" kind of person, so fingers crossed they don't come out cringing at the sound of my singing voice!

ETA: I'm dying at some of these responses... baritone farts, belly button making out...  =))
  • When the baby moves I always say hello and talk a little bit. DH rubs my belly and kisses it. I told him the baby can hear us now so the other day he starts saying the times tables to my belly. I'm like really don't you want to sing or say something more normal. DH replies "this is more productive, I'm teaching".

I couldn't resist and got up to 2s before it got too silly.

  • I haven't felt anything yet, but I'm thinking I might play some CAKE and see if that get his/her juices flowing. Maybe with all that dancing I can feel it. :D

H rests his head on my belly and talks to the baby.

    I love Cake!!!!

  • I just started feeling a bit of movement here and there. I Haven't actually talked to the baby specifically, as I feel like I am awkwardly talking to myself. I do have other people talking to my belly though, which is also awkward. My SOs family is excited and they like to touch my belly and talk to the baby. I let them do it but feel slightly disturbed.
My SO is very excited about the baby and will usually rub my belly everyday and smile. Once he put his mouth on my belly and was talking into it, but I couldn't even understand a word he was saying Lol.

Both of my pits and my chihuahua love to lay their heads on my belly. They were snuggly before, but never so clingy as they are now. I'm sure they can sense something.
My boxer mix will not let me out of his sight, if I go to shower and close the door I hit his nose on the way out because he's up against the door! He has always been my dog but he's gotten more protective lately, nothing aggressive but like he feels he has to watch over me when H isn't home.

I feel a little movement when H and I are playing Xbox together, family time right?

  • We haven't really done any purposeful interaction yet.  I do rub my belly, or place my hands on my abdomen more often when I'm laying on the couch or in bed.  I do talk to my dogs though about them having a baby at home soon.

  • I live with my hand down my pants now to rest my hand on my abdomen. It's so comforting yet I have to remember where I am most times. I sometimes talk to the baby but it's sort of weird. DH talks to the baby on Monday mornings because that's when my new week starts. I never felt the flutters or bubbles popping but I do feel tugs and twitches more now. DH has felt a couple already, so while I skipped a few weeks of baby flutters, we went right into the feeling of the kicks within a few days of each other.

  • When the baby kicks I'll put my hands on my belly and talk to him/her.
Also when I'm driving in the car and have horrible road rage and yell out profanities then I apologize for mommy having a potty mouth and talking like a sailor. Haha and that he/she is never allowed to use that many "God Damn"s in one sentence!
