Double Stroller Recommendations?

Those of you with 2+, what is your favorite stroller?  Do you have a separate one for traveling vs. in-town walking?  Do you/your LO's prefer the tandem (front to back) or side by side style?  We were looking at the Joovy Ultralight Caboose, but it seems really bare bones and I'm wondering if my toddler would hate sitting backwards. Also, we have a stand-on attachment for the stroller we use for the baby, but LO was tired of it after a week and now refuses to use it, so having the stand-on option is not going to factor in. I was thinking they would enjoy side by side best, but my understanding is that they are bulkier to fold up.  Any input?  Thanks in advance!

Re: Double Stroller Recommendations?

  • I'm a FTM but Lucie's List just released her 2014 review of double strollers - worth a read! City Select is always in the top but she goes through the pros and cons of each based on your needs.

  • I was having this issue too. I don't think DD1 is old enough to be able to understand the glider, or stay in the sitting backwards one. So I have been using a separate stroller. I never take them both somewhere alone much. If I do, I wear one and push the other. A double would be sooo much easier but I just couldn't decide??
  • My cousin has two city selects, a double and single for her twins and youngest. They are amazing to handle and being able to break the stroller down into so many pieces so fast and being able to just snap it all back together within seconds is so nice. When I've used hers with her kiddos the only thing I didn't care for was the car seat add on. I just didn't feel like it secured the seat on there well but the actual stroller seat reclined enough that I would have just put the baby in there.
  • We have the Joovy Ultralight Caboose Too. The Too version comes with a seat back for the jump seat so my 2 year old can face forward. It's a bit of a tight squeeze for him in back when LO is on the front with car seat but he doesn't seem to mind and likes being able to see his brother.

  • I have a graco classic connect. The back seat faces backwards so that's where LO sits and DD sits in front. As LO gets older I'll move him to the front bc the back seat comes of and can be used as a sit to stand. You can open and close it with one hand. It is a little heavy but it's a double stroller it's going to be a little heavy. I love that it has two cupholders and an extra long basket that stretches under both seats. It also has a foot rest that doubles as a break, just unlock it to push down to activate the break.

I love the City Select from what I've seen of it in passing and on the internet, but went with the Graco Ready2Grow double stroller because I already have a Graco car seat. I got the Click Connect version of the stroller because I have a Click Connect car seat, but it comes in classic connect too. What really sold me on it besides the car seat thing was that it has lots of different configurations that fit two kids from newborn to up to I think 50 lbs for the sit and stand part.

I love love love it. It moves very easily. I can steer it single handed with both kids in it and it folds down and sets up super easy too. It has a ton of storage on the bottom. I've gone shopping with both kids and used it as a cart. My only issue with it at first was figuring out how to fit it in the back of my Nissan hatchback, but I just took the canopies off and issue fixed. I don't need the second canopy while I'm still clicking DD's car seat into it. I store DS's canopy in the car and snap it in and out really easy when I get the stroller out.

@tromboner‌ did you ever put a car seat in yours? That's the only problem I had, he has a graco car seat and the stroller is compatible with all their car seats but I couldn't get it to click. It moved all over the place so I ended up just putting him in the stroller.

Nvm I didn't read the second part lol

@ashaw512 Before I got the hang of it it really pissed me off because sometimes it would click right in and sometimes I couldn't get it to click to save my life.

I guess I'll have to keep working on it. It just pissed me off so bad I had to quit. Is there a right way to put it on? Or just stick it and hope it clicks, I tried to pull the latch and push at the same time, I just can't get it

I have the click connect, so I don't know how specifically the classic connect work. With the click connect the trick is to set the seat on the stroller at the right angle, which seems dumb, but I had it at the slightly wrong angle and wanted to pulled my hair out.

Well apparently it's just me. DH did it last night and had no problem.
