38 weeks and sharp pain

I'm almost 38 weeks and I'm having really bad sharp pains in the right side of my stomach, hurts when I breathe, stand, get up, move. Etc. I had it before and they kept me in the hospital over night on IVs, but this time its worse. What to do.. Wait it out or what.. Is it normal..

  • Okay. I definitely think it's worth going to the hospital if it was bad enough for you to be admitted before.

That said, the same thing happened to me last week, and I had to leave work because I couldn't walk or breathe. The nurse at my OB's office told me it was the baby moving into a very uncomfortable position and hurting all the muscles and things there. She told me to lie on the opposite side of the pain, drink tons of fluids, pop a few Tylenol if I felt like it, and call back if I didn't feel better in an hour or two. The advice worked, and baby slipped back into a more comfortable position.

  • Not sure how your BP is, but that's also a symptom of Pre-E. I would at least call.

  • This was pretty much my ONLY symptom when I was hospitalized twice this past week. Exactly as you describe, stabbing pain in the right side. My BP and labs were off both times but ultimately they came to the conclusion to send me home each time. My gallbladder ultrasound was fine (I was shocked because I was convinced that is what it was), and they also ruled out my appendix.

I would definitely call or go back to the hospital. You know your body better than anyone. I know if I have to go in again I will not be coming home until they can tell me what the heck is going on, because I'm getting frustrated with the "let's wait and see." attitude from my Dr.
  • I see a number of ladies giving rude answers to the others who ask a 'common' question .. You can refrain yourself from responding if you think the question is not well asked.

But stay calm girls, we know you are probably frustrated with pains or something else. But be nice to others.. Keep smiling
  • Have a chill pill. If it's an online forum I'm entitled to my opinions too babe :P

Secondly who all are you ACTUALLY referring to when you say ''our answers" :D
I'd pretty much taken my advice as I had been reading these BLUNT answers from months and didn't said a word.. So Relax
Take it easy .. You took it way too seriously than I meant it anyway. I'm sorry if any of you felt hurt.. Cheers ;)
