What advice can you give me for my induction tonight at 11:30pm? I really want to try for a non medicated birth but I'm open since this is my first labor.
Take it one minute at a time. Focus on your breathing and keep thinking of finally seeing your baby. I found it helpful to visualize my favorite vacation spot during the contractions. Good luck!! You will do great!
I had a pain med free induction with DD#3. I agree with PP, take it one contraction at a time. Remember to breath and have a coach that will get in your face and help you breath (that was really important for me because I started to feel like I couldn't breath). Also, remember that when you feel like you can't do it anymore you are almost done. Switch positions, stay out of bed as much as you can with monitors. I spent a lot of time on the birthing ball, standing swaying (holding onto my husband), and leaning over the tray table. Good luck, I hope it goes smoothly!
Hey ladies! I am in labor and delivery. Contractions are 2-4 mins apart and not too painful. My cervix is still unfavorable for pitocin so I'm on my second dose of misoprostol.
Well my water broke and holy hell I couldn't take it anymore and got the epidural. I'm a little disappointed in myself but I tried my hardest! Baby should be here soon.
Epidurals are the shit!! Dont feel bad.. my nurse told me when I had Aubrey "we dont give out a medal or certificate if you go without pain meds.. be comfortable!" So then I was like hell yea! Fire up the fentanyl! ps, ive done it both ways and if I have more kids, it will be epi all the way!! Good luck mama, youre almost there!

Do not be disappointed! I held out as long as I could getting an epidural with my induction and I waited beyond my threshold and in the end I waited too long. They didn't have time to get the epidural in because DD wanted out as they were trying to give it to me. Going without hurt something fierce. How all is going well.
I know exactly how you feel. I was determined to go epi free but pitocin is a bitch. I made it to 8 1/2 cm with contractions a minute apart but I had to give in. It was definitely worth it but I can't say I wouldn't try to do med free next time as long as there is no pitocin involved. Good luck welcoming your sweet baby.
Ayd.en Thom.as was born 6:01 am weighing 9.5lbs 22.25 inches. We almost lost him due to his shoulders being stuck and it was the most intense 5 mins of my life!!! I'm so thankful for the nicu team and how fast and amazing they were. More on my birth story when feeling better. I appreciate all of you mamas for really being there for me the last couple weeks!
