Clothes

Anyone else feel like they are flying through sizes for baby clothes? I just got out 9 months and some of those already dont fit. She is just so long! Pj's are hard right now because her poor feet get squished in some of the footed pjs. I hate pjs with buttons! I got pretty much all of DD's clothes handed down from my sister. DD was born the day before my niece's bday so I was hoping the seasons would match up but my niece was short and DD is long! Looks like ill be buying baby clothes eventually. I have been lucky so far though to save so much money on the clothes so I shouldn't complain :)

Re: Clothes

  • DS has chunky legs so PJs with snaps don't fit unless we go up a size. I'm frustrated with how inconsistent sizing is. DS can still wear some 0-3 mos. clothes but some 6 mos. clothes are too small.

  • My LO has been in 12 month sizes for a while now.   PJs are our challenge.    The 9 month footed PJs are great in width, but too short now.  The 12 month PJs are long, but the arms & legs are so skinny!   We've had to start using regular long sleeve outfits with socks in place of true PJs.

  • I have an itty bitty baby so he's still in mostly 3 month clothing. He does fit into some 6 month Carter's clothes. I do know what you mean with the sleepers though - his legs/feet are where they get snug first!
  • yeah, @babybarlow2014, my husband refused to try to put him in the 12 month PJs anymore because he would cry when he tried to put the 2nd arm in.

  • It depends on the brand. I just finished putting away all his 0 - 3 month clothes, because some of the onesies still fit him until recently. Most of his 6 month clothes fits, although some run short. I just mixed in his 9 - 12 month clothes with his 3 - 6 months, and some of it fits well, some is still big.

This. DD is long and skinny, so some 0-3 month stuff still fit on top still fit until recently. I just went ahead and put all the 3-6 and 6-9 clothes in together. The 6 month sleepers with feet she is growing out of so quickly! For pants we're pretty much just wearing the 9 month ones -- 6 month pants fit except are way too short.

I could have written this ha! Yes his poor feet can't stretch out so we have had to move to 9 mo as well for jammies. And man yes the button ones suck especially at night trying to change a diaper while he's asleep and not wake him up! Yeah we've had a lot of almost new hand me downs from my friends who have boys so I'm not complaining but it just makes me sad he's getting so big!
  • I hate the way the sizes are so inconsistent.
  • My guy is in 9-12 months and even those are getting snug. The length is the issue. The pants are even a little big around the waist but are flood waters
  • We skipped 6m clothing all together. Went straight from 3m onesies to 9m footed pajamas when the weather changed a couple months ago. Most of DD1's winter clothing from last year is 12m or 18m so we're going to be going up to those any day now whether it fits or not!

  • Same thing for us. He is just 5 mths and wears mostly 9 mths. He is very long, too. I hate putting him in one piece things. I just bought a 12-18 month onesie long sleeve thermal at old navy. It fits him great and it just a little long. Crazy how things for in different sizes.
  • I wish all the clothing was labeled by weight instead of size, it would be so much better! Some brands list the weight and some stores have the weights displayed for the sizes but it's just so inconsistent and all over the place.

We are in 9/12 month everything, some stuff is a little too big but I'd rather that then too small!
  • I took out our 12 month clothes yesterday and it made me so sad that all of the pjs look so big with the grippy feet for walkers :( anyone have 12 month zip up sleepers without those kind of feet?
  • I find carters and baby gap DS lasts the longest in
  • Baby girl has long legs too. She can sill squeeze into some 6 month onesies but they are very snug so I'm phasing them out. She fully outgrew the 6 month pants and pajamas but even some 9 month pajamas are short in the legs. I think we will be moving on to 12 month footed pajamas soon. the weight on the labels don't seem to help me much with pajamas because of the legs are still too short for her even if she's within the weight range.

    Isabella & Julian & and now #3!
  • DD still fits into some of her 0-3 month stuff lol. We are mostly in 3-6 months now and I don't think we will be going to 9 months anytime soon.
  • I feel like this kid is going through so many diaper and clothes sizes so quickly. It's nuts. He kind of fits into 3-6 month clothes but 6-9 are really loose. I'd rather have him in loose clothes though as I'm not as likely to have to deal with blow outs as often.

  • @Mimaloo‌ we in a similar situation. DD has just barely out grown her 0-3 month stuff. Some of her pjs still fit tho. Most of her 3-6 stuff is huge on her tho.
  • Same. I feel like his toes are folded in some of his 6-9 PJ's. And some of his pants are flood worthy. But 9-12/12's are too big. One pieces fit like this:

I absolutely hate those outfits, because they always fit like that! I just got our 6-9mos clothing out, so for the next couple wks those things will be roomy, but I know we'll be sizing up soon! Right after we change sizes is the only time I even try putting her in those one-piece outfits. Otherwise they drive me nuts with her cold ankles showing all day.

  • We had family portraits done this morning and my guy wore a size 24 month button up top.   I had to roll the sleeves up one link, but it barely buttoned across his belly!

DD is in 12-18 month clothes.
  • I am seriously stunned at the size ranges on our LOs! I know, all babies are different. It's just really cool to see how they compare now.
  • In 9 mo here but I don't think for long. Just bought another round of clothes, all 12m. Can't believe it. Our lo's aren't so little anymore, ladies.

  • Very solid 12 months and starting into 18 months. :( I'm starting to think we need to go up to size 5 diapers too. My 22 month old wears size 5s. WTH??
