Pregnant after a Loss

Worry getting the best of me...

Im exactly half way now as we're having the baby bean at 38weeks but now is the point it all started to go wrong last time so im getting more and more anxious plus im not really feeling any movement yet so that makes me scared :/ my husband is so excited but i cant be until baby arrives safely xx

Re: Worry getting the best of me...

  • Perhaps it will be better for you once you're past your loss milestones? It was for me, although mine were very early. But I still have a lot of anxiety, of course. I think most of the ladies here, do, as we know live with the knowledge that it's never a sure thing.

Have you had your a/s yet? Sounds like you might be at that time. Otherwise, use the mantras, a Doppler if you have one and like it, and try to focus on how healthy your LO has looked so far. Sending lots of positive t&p to you. ((hugs))

  • Of course you feel this way, id be more worried if you didnt but the past doesn't determine the present mama.
  • I'm sorry your anxiety is getting the best of you. Like OP said, use the mantras. Try to keep yourself busy and try to stay positive. Sending you hugs and T&P!!

  • I got really anxious around my loss milestone and did feel much better once it was a couple weeks behind me. And once I could feel babies moving, I've been pretty relaxed, almost 29 weeks here. I decided not to get a doppler for home, but did use one at work regularly before I could feel the girls kicking- and that helped :-) (((hugs)))

Good luck with your A/S! But why did the midwife "tell you off"???

    ALL WELCOME!

  • Glad to know I'm not alone and these feelings are vaguely normal atleast for the situation we're in. I have an odd relationship with her shes a friend as well, she was the person who delivered my son and was with him until the end when they were trying to resuscitate him in the NICU so we've remained in contact for the past year so she was just warning me of the dangers of using one if your not a midwife i think :/ xx
  • I'm sorry you're struggling with the worry, but glad you are realizing you're not alone! I hope you can find some comfort as you get further along and start feeling baby regularly, and once you get past your loss milestone. I'll be sending good thoughts your way!
