Am I the only one who hasn't posted a birth story yet!?! Lol sure feels like it anyway, with those due close to thanksgiving, are you decorating for christmas early, before lo makes their debut??
I think we will probably decorate while DH is taking time off from work after the baby is born. There's a lot of down time, perfect for decorating the Christmas tree and relaxing (sort of!). If the little guy comes wayyyy before Thanksgiving, we'll hold off.
I am due the 17th. We just put our thanksgiving decorations out yesterday! One holiday at a time here! Now if I were Canadian, I could totally justify putting up Christmas decorations now!

I'm due the 16th but if no baby doctor will induce the week of thanksgiving! So, that kills any thanksgiving plans and I am just wondering if it will be nice to already ha e the decor up for visitors, etc.
I am having a c-section a week from tomorrow. We will definitely not decorate until after thanksgiving. I think it will be easier to do it after the baby gets here anyway. I'll be stuck at home for awhile & babies sleep a lot
I'm due the 24th and we put the Christmas tree up this weekend. It's early but I really didn't want to deal with it once LO comes. Now I'm thankful I did because it really cheers me up
I'm due on the 25th and we're waiting to decorate and put up the tree until LO is home. I want them to be a part of it even though they'll have no memory.
I'm due 11/27, but if the baby comes early, I plan to distract myself during early labor by putting up as many Christmas decorations as I can! If the baby comes closer to my due date, I plan to recruit my sister (visiting from grad school) to help put things up :-)
We went to Home Depot yesterday and the Christmas decorations made me so happy and excited for LO to get here. I need some distraction right now anyway. DH and I are going a little crazy waiting. (Due date's tomorrow!) Maybe this would be a good project today. Hey at least Halloween has passed. haha!
N14 November Siggy Challenge - Straight up Celebration!!!
Due the 23rd. If she doesn't show then (or shortly there after) I have a RCS scheduled for the 26th (day before thanksgiving). We will decorate once she is here.
Decorating before thanksgiving is just too early for me.
I refuse to decorate before Thanksgiving on principle. I'm due 11/28 and my OB said she won't let me go past my due date because of the GD and my guess is we will induce before Thanksgiving if I don't go on my own. So that leaves me no option but to wait until baby is here. I'm sad I won't be able to go to the tree farm the weekend after Thanksgiving, but I trust my husband to pick out the perfect tree for our new addition.
I totally agree with the 'no decorating until after Thanksgiving' rule. Fortunately, that was over a month ago I'm going to have most of my 'non-tree' things up soon, and then the tree on December first. Since I'm due the 28th, it's possible my contribution to doing the tree will just be pointing.
DH's birthday is at the end of the month. We don't decorate until then...but I'll definitely start listening to music and getting myself in to the holiday spirit!
I'm due the 23rd and my daughter is having surgery on the 28th. We put our tree up last weekend. I love it! Also planning to take christmas pictures of both my kiddos pretty soon after he arrives so I can get my christmas cards/thank you notes out on time. Don't want to mess with everything all at once when he gets here.
I think i will pull out all the decorations except for the tree stuff. I'll start working on them this week. The tree can wait until December 1st.
I'm thinking of going really simple this year. I'll put out our nativity scenes and stockings, maybe buy a row of lights for around the front window. I'm not going to get a big tree this year. I'll probably just buy a little table top tree we can enjoy to feel festive.
MIL is coming for 12 days around Thanksgiving. I figure helping me decorate will give us/her something to do after we run out of small talk. But I'll be having this baby next week at the latest, so he/she will already be here.
If I haven't had the baby by the time I go on maternity leave on the 22nd, I'm totally decorating early, but otherwise I'll wait until DH and I are both on leave and we can put up things. I'm also stuck with a fake tree too, yay apartments! I'm guessing that I'm probably not doing my holiday baking this year, even though it brings me so much joy. I told my family that it's very possible that Christmas may have to come to us this year and only for a few hours! It's good to lower their expectations and then if I show up it's a happy surprise.
We decorated this week. I'm sooo glad everything is done! I'm not going to have the time or energy once the babies are here. Plus we get to enjoy the holiday feeling a couple weeks extra this year. It's so festive and DS loves the "pretty lights" on the tree.
I'm due the 23rd so I have been mentioning possibly putting the tree up for the last week. We usually decorate the day after thanksgiving after we get home from shopping. So, DH keeps delaying me... first it was just it's too early, then it was this weekend, and after church today it was how about later this evening. If he doesn't follow through I'll probably do it one day this week while he's at work and DD is in MDO.
I'm due the 20th. If LO doesn't come by her due date, we'll probably get the tree a little early so that we can go together to pick it out since I probably won't want to bring a few days old baby out in the cold to pick the tree. We always decorate the day/weekend after Thanksgiving (assuming we're not working) otherwise and will probably wait to do actual decorating until then.
I'm still grieving for the lack of Halloween decorations. I didn't want to burn all of my candles too early, and then *poof* it was over (with a birth somewhere in between). I'll still wait until December, though, to think about xmas decorations. Just someone please remind me when it's December, okay?
I usually refuse to skip a holiday but this year im going to bend a lil. This is ds and mine....well baby will be here too....first christmas in our house so i want to make it extra special. I put garland on 2 windows. I dont plan on going too crazy before thanksgiving but at least a bit will be done. I get a real tree so thatll wait and ds dad said hed put the lights outside fo me. Ack! I cant wait for ds to see lights on the house!
I will probably start outside decorations soon as my RCS is the day before Thanksgiving. Other than that we always got the inside decorations out after thanksgiving, I have a lot of help so not too worried.
I was going to wait until after Thanksgiving, but my mother just offered to make us some Christmas napkins and needs to know what our table runner looks like. I said I'd send a picture, so I guess I have an excuse to start getting the decorations out! German smoking man is coming out first!
Also, why does Georgetown Cupcake (for those DC folks) not launch their Christmas flavors until December 1st? I could really go for a chocolate peppermint or gingerbread cupcake now.
Well DH is still not budging on getting things down early for me. However, he seems excited that this year I will tell Aubrey all the stories about the ornaments rather than him. He told me we can lay in her in the pack-n-play right next to where our tree goes and she can listen to me babble.
I really want to hang up stockings. I'm so excited at how LOs stocking and FSILs stocking turned out. The joys of hosting are that I can make the stockings and have them hanging up.
My husband & I were talking about this last night! He's concerned I won't feel up to decorating after the baby comes or the further along I am. He's probably right lol. I'm due the day after Thanksgiving, and we usually decorate on that day. I love Christmas, so I'm not opposed to decorating early :P. We'll probably decorate in the next 2 weeks.

I was going to decorate for Christmas early, but now I know my parents will be coming to stay with us early in December, so I plan to put them to work setting up the decorations for me!
Two stockings added to the mantel this year!
This is a new tree bought after the holidays (great sale!) in January. It's a little taller than our last tree so I'm waiting until my mom gets here to buy more ornaments and fill in the spaces.
I'm putting our decorations no later than a week before thanksgiving. This will be our first Christmas, and I want to have everything ready before LO arrives :-) monogrammed stockings from Pottery Barn are on their way! I'll probably decorate as soon as they arrive
Here's how I spent my snow day, with Pandora's Colbie Caillat Holiday Station. Very excited to buy a new tree skirt this year! I'll update when the stockings are hung!
