Since there is no way for newbies/lurkers to let their buddy know their likes/dislikes to help guide their buddy, I thought a thread would be nice.

ETA: just saw celticlullaby posted something similar..... This is what happens when you don't check out Bump for a day. Well this will be lurker only because we're ~*special snowflakes*~

We don't celebrate Christmas in our house because my husband is Jewish so an ornament will be semi- wasted on me. My side of the family celebrates Christmas though so I can hang the ornament on their tree if you find a super awesome ornament. Don't let my husband's Jewish-ness dampen your Christmas spirit I know I don't \m/

  • That's so interesting @penguinjenny‌! What do the holidays look like for you and DH? Will you celebrate Hannukah together with LO or keep the holidays religiously neutral? It's neat that LO may be exposed to both!

"Oh Eli, there's a sanctity in your innocence. A certain beauty and no uncertain strength that brings me to the faith. I don't know if I am climbing to or falling in, but it comes like grace from your tiny hands when I hold you in mine." - Eli's Song

  • We don't really have a holiday style, though we do lean towards the cooler holiday colors (green, silver). We've moved 5 times in 5 years and have accumulated little holiday decor with each move. In years past, we have decorated our tree with generic glass ball ornaments but would like to start building a collection of ornaments with sentimental value. We do have a nativity set that we put out each year but so far that's the only staple.

  • Hey! I'm catholic and my hubby is Jewish, my husband looooves Christmas (which is super weird) and we celebrate both. We make a white Christmas tree with blue ornaments and whatever people get us. I got his family celebrating Christmas too haha. Last year I made them stay up with me until midnight to open presents (I'm Colombian and that's how we do it over there)

  • I celebrated Hanukkah with my husband's family and we'll celebrate Hanukkah with LO. We celebrate Christmas with my family. Until LO can start asking for a tree/ Christmas decorations we'll just keep things Hanukkah related. Growing up, Christmas was more of a family hangout holiday vs. actually celebrating Christmas so I don't have strong feelings.
  • We celebrate Christmas with our parents and families on Christmas Eve. This way the grandparents get to see the grandkids. This is our first Christmas as parents, and we will probably stick to Christmas Eve with the grandparents and do Christmas Day at home, just the 3 of us. We do the traditional Christmas tree with generic ornaments. I am really looking forward to the holidays this year!
